Well, ok the title is misleading... What I'm looking to do is play DVD's on my PC, and have them display in something better than just 480i. Is there any way of getting 480P playback, or better yet upconverting them to 720P? I have a regular 19" CRT, and I wouldn't mind the black bars.

Long story short, this is for my garage that we are using as a home gym, and don't want to run cable to just to be able to watch TV while working out. But I do have a PC in there, and would love to watch movies in upconverted near HD.

Thanks!

On a 19" monitor you really dont need to do anything. At 1600 x 1200 it looks killer (or even 1024 x 768). You honestly cant tell it's not HD. Looks as good as any HD out there. I watch DVD's on my 19". I just stick in the DVD and play it with powerDVD. You dont need anything else.

Just full screen the movie, it will be up converted to the screen resolution.

If you want to waste a lot of time you could look into ffdshow, but you won't notice much difference except dropped frames.
