My son an I have worn out some game CD and DVDs, so I play from an iso on the hard drive when I can, but I'd like to sometimes just burn a playing copy, is there any difference between making a copy on a BluRay vs a reg DVD DL? Specifically I am thinking about StarCraft II which seems to always be spinning.

A huge difference in cost - otherwise, your call.

Starcraft 2 should not need a disc in the drive to play. Try taking it out and run the game.

I say you should burn them on DL dvds. It's cheaper and compatible with more computers.

This is correct. Once you've associated your cd-key with your b.net account, you do not need the disc ever again. In fact, you can just download the installer from your b.net account.

Game companies go to great lengths to prevent people from pirating their games. One way that they do this is use software to prevent you from playing the game from a copy of the disc. Other ways include tying your game to an online account like Starcraft II does. If you don't want to use the disc, no-cd cracks are your best option.

After we had two different Diablo II disc's crack, we tried playing off CDR copies, then figured out how to mount iso's. Good to know it isn't an issue for Starcraft.

My last DVD drive says it burns DL, so I may skip a burner for BluRay and just get a player.

Thanks for the help.
