Just got new burner 8x instead of 4x.
All CD-R written on old burner are playing fine in different car radios (3 cars).
New CD-Rs written at any speed 2x-8x are playing only in 2 cars, can't play them in new Camry (factory CD radio).
New burner Yamaha 8424EZ with latest firmware.
All discs are closed (finalized).
Using same media - all from same pack (Imation 8x-74min).
Tried different disks: made from MP3s or copies from factory CDs.
Software - Adaptec EZCD 4.02d

Any ideas?

Some cd players dont like certain media. I have encountered that on many occasions. Try different media colors and/or brands. The media i would get is here

They are inexpensive and work in every player that i have used. IMO, these are better than most cdrs i have used for both music and data

Thanks denon
This was my guess after I posted this thread.
All discs I used before were blue.
Just opened new pack 12x 80 min - color is silver.
Burned 1 disk - will try it tomorrow.

Still some problems: "silver" media plays in the car, but I have to insert disk a few times, before it recognizes it.
Is this Yamaha problem, or just a Toyota?
Like I said all disks written on 4x Teac drive on the same media are fine.

Toyota owners I need help!

My Ford doesn't care about media...blue, gree, silver, gold...whatever, the changer mags are the same as Clairon's changers. Burner is a Plextor 12/4/32 SCSI

Like I said before: my Pioneer in-dash CD and Alpine CD changer are playing all disks.
The same disks are not working in Camry's in-dash factory radio.

Have Camry ('94) w/ factory CD. It will play blue/green dye CD-R, but sometimes skips over bumps. It likes *silver* (more reflective than blue/green). Plex 8X CD-R (SCSI).

You don't ned this exact CD, but it's interesting in that it's called True Silver.

Look here at the ones that says 'Excellent for music'.

I have never had any problems with different media (blue/blue, green/gold, gold/gold, chartruse/fuscia, cheap, expensive, or indifferent), but usually the problem is the writer making the lead-in track. See if the players like the CDs better if you skip to track 2 or 3.
Also, you might want to try CDRWin. I've never really liked Easy CD Creator, and CDRWin has more options.
It's available here: CDRWin

jackshit:
I think the problem is not the media - same media used with old 4x was fine.
Looks like this is a combination : 8x yamaha, media and Toyota CD
BTW toyota's radio 2000 model type 1
I have cdrwin, but never used it (v3.8b).
Will try it toninght. Also will try Nero.

I got some Kingston CDRs from Outpost.com and burned at either 8x or 4x on my Plextor won't work in my mom's 97 Chrysler Concorde Cd player (stock). Sometimes it just says Err and other times it will just keep trying to read it. Pop in any of the cds I burned with Imations at 8x and it works fine.

I have never had a problem with my cdplayers playing cdr's

however I take care to burn them. I use a samsung SCW230 or an HP9300 series burner.
I use Imation/Maxwell/Memorex/TDK/Silver

I use Nero and / or Adaptec depending on what I am in the mood for.

Of the following CDR's, Maxwell and Imation runs the best, TDK and Silver (cheap ones) are good, and then there is memorex.

I used them on the following:
Sony CdPlayer - portable
Sony 10 Disk CD changer
Technic's 5 disk changer - home
Ford 's Stock CD changer 3 cd.
Pioneer 10 Disk CHanger
Philips 6 disk changer
Aiwa Cd player
Blapunkt 6 & 10 Cd changer.

Everything is for the car unless stated.

I don't care what media I use, my Kenwood car CD player sucks. It crackles or freaks out on every CD I've ever burned, and I've tried tons of different software, media, and burners.

Thanks everyone,
tried nero - can't read disk at all, reads fine in another car, as well as in walkmans.
I am pretty sure - this is toyota's radio, not the burner.
Still looking for some feedback from toyota 2000 owners.
