I usually play through Crysis and Warhead at least once a year.

I've played through 2 and 3 a few times, but I don't enjoy them nearly as much as the originals. I agree on C3 graphic quality, though. Great looking game.

I really should pick up Warhead for my new desktop soon too. I have the demo which looks meh compared to Warhead. Still fun to just fell some random palm trees on top of some asians from a nice, safe distance.

Yeah it does look wonderful I think. I'm using AA forced in my video card software and turned of AA in the game because players recommended it. And it looks brighter and better than the other way around with using AA in the game. Wondered which way or other AA method if any works for you.

edit - added specs:

Crysis 3 is great but the AA is broken. No amount of in game AA gets rid of shimmering textures and aliasing. Just look at any stairs in that game and you'll notice it. Ryse Son Rome on the other hand solved that problem and looks a good deal better. But boring game.

Honestly the most fun I ever got out of the original Crysis was playing the starting mission as far as the first beach you get at sunrise and then just faffing about the with huts, guards and physics. The rest of the game wasn't really as fun as the more sandbox areas at the start. Warhead was actually a big improvement in terms of fun singleplayer all the way through.

Crysis 2 was awful, I've never seen such steps backwards from a development studio, the fact that almost nothing in the game had dynamic physics was an absolute travesty, you'd drive around in the jeeps at full speed and bounce of tents, it was so stupid. Seriously consoled up to the max.

I never got far with Crysis 3 just gave up a few hours in, couldn't even be bothered.

Last time I tried playing warhead it told me my install limit was reached. Didn't bother trying to get around it.

I really liked the original Crysis. And, even contrary to what seems like the majority of those who finished it (or at least made it that far) I actually liked the zero gravity level (and considering it didn't last that long compared to the rest of the game, there's really nothing to cry about there... and I may have used the word cry on purpose here). I did enjoy it, overall, even though I did think that the A.I. was pretty bad. But it wasn't new to FPS gaming when Crysis was released anyway, bad A.I. in FPS games is an industry standard; with only very few exceptions you can count on one hand, maybe two if you're really pushing it.

I also liked Warhead, it was intelligently connected with the original Crysis. In fact, Warhead often reminds me (conceptually) of Half-Life: Blue Shift. The character of Psycho was well developed, competently voice-acted, and the pace of the game's main events, combined with what I thought to be well-balanced maps (both length and design-wise) all contributed to make a solid FPS experience. I would say that I simply liked Warhead equally to the original, not "better", not "worse, simply just as good.

I've given a try to Crysis 2, with the MALDoHD mod (textures). I made it to... (from memory) what I believe was the 4th map? I'm not sure at this point. Well, suffice it to say that I stopped playing and even surprised myself for not even having the will nor desire to continue. It's been maybe a year now, I think... and I have never touched it again since. I didn't "hate" it. I just didn't find the "fun" (yeah that tends to help to continue on liking AND playing a video game) in it to continue.

I've seen a lot (mostly spoilers-free) of Crysis 3 footage on YouTube for example. Many were video reviews, others were just "let's plays" or demonstrations of maximum in-game settings, etc. From what I have seen it doesn't look like it's a bad game. It's of course visually very detailed... the CryEngine has had nothing to prove to the industry since the original Crysis anyway. But... the thing is I would think that finishing Crysis 2 first before buying Crysis 3 would "help", or maybe it wouldn't. If they made Crysis 3 in the first place is probably because you finish Crysis 2 with a feeling that nothing useful was in fact accomplished. But that's just my guess, I may be wrong and perhaps Crysis 2 "picks itself up" and rises to the occasion at some point in the game. So as far as Crysis 3 goes... I might never know. I really dislike going from point A to point C, without knowing about or getting to point B first in a series or trilogy of games (and no I won't buy Crysis 3 "just because OMG ze graphics!", it'd just take up virtual dust sitting untouched and still uninstalled after purchase in my Origins games library)

I played through the original Crysis and got the Warhead expansion but all I did was play the mechwarrior mod. Maybe I should go back and give Warhead a chance if you guys are saying it was the best of the series.

As gamers, so of us take this stuff WAY to seriously. Crysis 3 is NOT some sorry CONSOLE PORT, the mechanics are VERY good. The graphics are INSANELY good, the story is cohesive if you ask me, Prophet has stayed center to the story in all the games.
Maybe I am too simplistic in my tastes, I love good SHOOTERS, I like figuring out a way to get past WAY too many enemies by KILLING them and not just sneaking past them. The story needs to be decent, not HEMINGWAY. People who complain all the time either need to find a way to fix what they are complaining about or quit bitchin'.

I liked Crysis 2. A lot actually. However, any time I decide to play through it again I get about halfway and give up.

Crysis 3 though... it's a winner. The atmosphere is much better. AI is better. The detailed mechanics of the bipedal aliens is amazing. Seriously. Everything is better. Even more so since i recently got a GTX970 and an i7. It's a gorgeous game and great for what it is. Perfect? Nah. Awesome? Yah.

The 'Fields' Map is truly a work of art. Every piece of foliage adds to it. With graphics all maxed out, the grass is so high you feel lost in it.

I loved Crysis and Warhead, also played some multiplayer (it was lots of fun on small maps with friends especially, not so much in the big ones, also fun to play without weapons).

Then I played Crysis 2 but I hated the new aliens and game style. I guess the original game felt more far cryish when it comes to the single player mode.
I just prefer shooting at humans and not overly complex aliens in videogames I guess.

Crysis 3 is too advanced for my videocard so I never played it.
I guess I'll play it a few years down the road since it's historical and all.
