Playing a game, game crashes ...

So I'm playing the new Unreal Tournament IV, the game crashes, and since then I've did a little trouble shooting and cannot figure out why my sounds device is not working. I'm sure the speakers work, i turned up the volume and touched the jacks and heard a light humming. When I uninstall the sound card from my device manager and reboot, the device is recognized again and windows installs drivers. I've even changed the PCIe slot on a long shot, and I still am not getting any sounds. Went through all the playback devices. Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and nothing.

What the :colbert:

Could the ports have fried?

Trying checking your playback devices and making sure that the correct output is set as the default.

After the pcie slot change and a fresh install, instead of a 'repair' install, the sound came back on. Seems upon a reboot Windows didn't have drivers that should of worked.
