We?re back?FINALLY! We?ve got a ton of games to cover along with our Tommay Tallarico interview.
Games we talk about include Rock Band, Mass Effect (which leads Chris and Mark to a heated debate!), Assassin?s Creed, Blacksite: Area 51, Loony Toons: Duck Amuck (yes, seriously), Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, Zack and Wiki, Uncharted and Mythos.

In our discussion with Tommy Tallarico we discuss Video Games Live, the importance of music in gaming, his cousin Steven Tyler, his effort to get video game music recognized by the Grammys and also whether or not he was really fired from working on Metroid Prime.

Glad to hear it's working with the Zune software. Thanks again for taking care of that--I'll be sure to give you a shout out next episode.

I wouldn't do that quite yet. I'm still working off the manual subscription I entered into the software. It still doesn't show up in the podcast marketplace for some reason :(. Maybe I should submit it again. Hell, it's been 2 months now, I'm pretty sure it's not going to be added unless I try again ;).

Not bad. Glad to hear you're switching to a shorter format.
I for one would like to see more games that don't involve killing everything that moves. I was actually complaining about this yesterday while playing WoW (which I just started). Every quest no matter how mundane seems to involve killing a bunch of people/animals/whatevers.

Yea--I'm really looking forward to the shorter shows. :)

I've become an avid video game podcast listener since I started working. I don't think that makes my opinion worth any more, but I think I have a greater basis of comparison.

It's not entertaining. The overall vocal tone reminds me of the SNL radio host skit - you know the one where Alec Baldwin did "Schwetty Balls".

I know some people are into this kind of thing, but I prefer a very light, joking, entertaining podcast. I'm an hour in and it's like watching CNN or something.

I dont know the skit, but I cannot imagine you're complimenting us. :)

I think this is probably the most serious minded podcast we've ever had. It's probably because Elizabeth wasnt around to even out the Testosterone or something, hehe. I mentioned, in the podcast, that starting with the next show we're going to a small, bit-sized format. I imagine that, with Liz coming back, we should return back to our fun form (atleast I hope we do as that's the goal).

Maybe give us one more shot (or listen to an older episode?) in a week or two? But that being said--if you're not interested in that, there are a lot of other podcast out there that are probably more suitable to your liking. Thanks for giving it a listen though.

I'll listen again next week - mainly because I am desperate for time killers at work.

I think a 2-man podcast is rough, especially if the chemistry isn't there. The only good one I can think of is the CAGcast, but really, it's CheapyD's personality that holds the show together.

Also, and this irks me on a lot of podcasts - get your co-host to record his portion of the show and then mix the two tracks. I hate it when one guy has good quality audio and the other sounds like AM radio.

My favorite podcast is the Penny Arcade one, but those are a rare treat. They are hilarious. Otherwise I'm a big fan of IGN's Three Red Lights and the CAGcast. If I want a more news-oriented show I'd rather just listen to 1-UP Yours, as they're pros. For an amateur podcast like yours, I prefer comedy over quality. But that's just me.

Regardless of the content, though, the show is professionally done (aside from the AM radio co-host as I mentioned). Not too shabby, even if a bit dull.

I can understand that. We just basically use the tools that we have available to us and I wish we could all be in a studio together. I try my darndest to make the production of the show as good as possible, but for now--VOIP is basically the reason why the show is even possible. Maybe things will change in the future--who knows.

I like it. I had never listened before today. I've started working my way back through the episodes. I definitely enjoy that you guys aren't afraid to talk shit about bad games and argue openly.

Yea, most podcasts use Skype and such, but you can fix the sound quality issue if everyone on records their own audio. So your co-host would have a recording with him sounding good and you like ass, and vice versa.

Then when you finish, he sends his file to you, and you merge the audio in post-production, keeping the high quality versions of both. No studio required.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but it would be incredibly easy if you could just record your own voice and not your co-hosts, since then it would just be adding the two audio tracks together (once they're in perfect sync, that is).

I understand how the process works, very well actually, as we originally tried to do this when we first started the podcast--but it just didnt work out for us. Lets just say that not everyone on the show is technical savy enough? ;)

But that doesnt mean I wont give it a shot farther down the road.

Thanks, Josh! Seriously--it makes my day every time I hear someone say this. Let me know what you think of the later episodes.
