found some [at] servers but they were way slow and no one was there

Ameesh, just remember in CS, the letter E is your friend. Thats the key you use to plant the bomb (at the designated bomb sites, marked with red circles), look into tv surveillance cameras to see who is where, and anything like that. Its hard the first couple of times, and people are real asses in some servers. But if you find a good one, you can really have some fun playing. I tried Quake III, but it was too much just running around killing and not enough sneaking for me to really enjoy it.

CS 1.4 will be quite a bit different than 1.3. Get accustomed to some things now, but a lot of players will be quite pissed with the 1.4 changes. I, for one, enjoy the changes.

if theres significant lag then yes, cs is more fun. but if you have a very low ping connection q3a is the best, no question about it. i just dont see the fun when you aim right at a guys head and miss your mark by a mile. q3a is MUCH more competitive

As someone who has played a ton of CS, I'd say no. It's fun and all, but I don't like how it's a weird middle ground between teamplay and run-n-gun (a la Q3)...it's all "haul ass to the choke points and then deathmatch til it's over". If I just want to run around killing stuff, I play UT or Q3...if I want real team play with emphasis on stealth and tactics, I play Ghost Recon (pretty hooked on it at this point). The maps are so big and open on GR that you are really forced to employ small squad tactics if you want to stay alive for more than 10 sec...try to run across an open area with no covering fire and you are a dead duck for sure.

Of course, CS is really cheap (free if you already have Half-Life) so there's not really any reason not to give it a try.

Everything... aimbots, wallhacks, popups that show weapons everyone is carrying, auto burst fire stuff. :|

there are also "spiked" skins where the sking have long red spike exending out from every direction so you can know whaere the guy is through a wall, etc because of the way cliping works in HL
