Then don't buy or look at it.

Goddamn, somebody sign him up.

Maybe I liked the fact that if I DID have the desire to have a magazine with pictures of nude women, there was one out there that wouldn't offend me?

There are plenty of other things out there for you guys to get off on, why do you need hardcore Playboy as well?

[qYou're probably right about that, but that's irrelevant. It's the images in the magazine that are important. It's fantasy, remember?[/i] >>

that's true... it's too much of an institution to give up, they're probably just going to embark on another avenue, not replace the current version...

also, i looked for this story on CNBC and MSNBC and found nothing... any links?

I'm not crazy about the idea of hardcore Playboy either. I don't like it so I won't be looking at it as well. It's that simple.

Too bad, I guess the internet has taken it's toll on magazine sales and they are forced to do this to survive. I like it the way it is. My question is this, Playboy has a reputation for being "classy", great articles/interviews etc., Do you think it's going to be harder to get celebrities/politicos to sit down for their interviews now? will the overall quality of the magazine go down? I'm thinking yes on both. I enjoyed the magazine as a whole, the pictures were the icing on the cake....But hey, that's just me.

<< let's not kid ourselves... they're all nasty smut whores... they're in playboy semi-nude, artfully photographed and professionally airbrushed by day, and giving lap-dances and joeblobs at night..." >>

Yet again, I'm reminded of why I no longer frequent this place as often as I used to. littled, you never cease to disappoint me. From that statement, you just accused all Playboy models of being strippers or prostitutes - which couldn't be further from the truth. I'm friends with a few ladies who have had the honor of posing in the "classy" Playboy... all of whom are intelligent, motivated, confident, AND beautiful. A few are even Christian, if that means anything to you. Try to educate yourself a bit before posting such nonsense in the future. :disgust:

<< Playboy (the magazine at least) had class. >>

I'm sorry, but a magazine that features nude women catered towards men who want to get off by looking at the pictures has no class.

From the Yahoo link...

The three networks, including the Vivid channel which was launched last year, now reach 36 million households, up from 7 million in 1999. Combined with its own Playboy channel, the channels will reach some 100 million households.

That is very, very sad. There are what, 250-300 million people in the US? And porn reaches 100 million households?

That is NOT good.

it *reaches* 100million.. does that mean 100million have an option, or they actually subscribe? I mean, them porn channels reach 100% of the cable company here... but how many actually subscribe?

This is not really a big step for them IMHO after reading that article. It says they already own Spice and there is a version of Spice called Hot Spice that was definitely not soft core. All they are doing is taking the final step and buying the only channel that shows slightly more than what they were showing on Hot Spice.

That's to bad. Just seeing a pretty woman nude has a certain draw to it, more than seeing a woman bend over a post being penetrated or "drooled" on shall we say.

I prefer softcore to hardcore.

Mind you I prefer looking at a real girl fully clothed to pictures of one.

uh huh... leave it to HK to defend women who pose in pictures for men's enjoyment :) I didn't notice you were frequenting less... No new pics to post?

so I guess allplayboy models are "intelligent, motivated, confident, AND beautiful" ? what if i told you i know a local stripper who was in Playboy (and will do anything for $)? would that make either of our generalizations any less sweeping or any less valid?

no, being "christian" does not mean anything to me in this context... WTF does religion have to do with this? i'd bet most prostitutes were born/raised in christian households, it's their actions not labels that define them...

<< Umm..I'm guessing this is borderline dumb to post this, but I can hardly contain myself.

"In an attempt to heat up profits, Playboy turns to hardcore porn" quoted from CNBC.
I just heard this seconds ago and I thought everyone should know about this. :D:D:D:D:D:D::D:D::D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Not that I would know ( I have no access to it and wouldn't subscribe if I did), but a friend at work said that the Playboy channel went hardcore several months ago. Said that it was late at night and that it did show penetration and oral sex. FYI
