I wonder what will happen when they develop MMOs using this kind of tech. Gamers propaly play all night and day exhausting their mental energy.

imagine playing a star wars game as a jedi/sith... you can actually toss things around with your mind...

Awesome!

That's what it looked like to me. A mod of Garry's Mod.

Looks like PS9 is closer than we thought.

I can see this built into cell phone bluetooth headsets, truly hands free. well, I guess you could only really control the cursor in menus, not just think up a name.

Jedi games would be fun. And in RPG's, you would actually have to be good at concentrating to be a good mage.

REPOST! :) Seriously though, this is semi old news. OCZ as I recall had already made an demoed similar tech with a video game. they where able to run, walk, shoot, Jump and everything the only thing the mouse was used for was aiming, Ill have to look it up.

I do want to see this stuff come to the consumer market though, that would be sweat

I'm surpised more people are'nt all over this thread.

This is really amazing but also kinda terrifying. I wonder if the military already has this kind of technology and if so what are they doing with it right now?

Make sure your neighbors and all other small children are in a safe area before you attempt it. I can only imagine what will happen when this technology gets in the hands of some psycho or retard.

You know...there is more truth to this statement than you may realize.

Think about how many appliances, tools, and other various machines are used everyday which only operate based on a user's input? Whether it be pressing buttons, flicking switches, or turning knobs they all run off the same idea. This new "mental" technology is basically replacing the need to use our fingers in order to administer the input. Thus, if this technology can work for video games then it should be able to work on anything which only requires a user's input....in theory of course ;)

I just hope I am alive long enough to live in house where there isn't a single button, switch, or knob in sight :D . On that note, I have to say that I love how much video games push technology.
