Platinum Ring.

How much would a simple Platinum ring cost? I was thinking about getting one but I dunno 😉 I just want a straight band that doesn't have anything on it or in it.

Platinum is the most expensive metal on earth, so be expected to pay alot. Since its going to be plain then its cheaper, but it still costs alot, more than gold rings.

I have not a single number for you , sorry.

I thought about it but naa I want a plantium just for the hell of it, I mean I'm probably not even going to wear it that often 🙂 Plus I don't really like shiny stuff I want something kinda dull and platinum gives you that dull kind of shine.

Look at what's waiting for me should my pockets ever get deep enough. The stone itself will likely reach $5K. And my momz wants to know whyI haven't already popped the question, ...

I know some with a platinum chain, $1500, it all depends on the professionalism of the cut, and amount. He also had a ring but sold it for 2k.

My wife has this fascination with platinum jewelry. Ugh, if I were to spend $5000+ on something it certainly wouldn't be a ring. 🙂

Sucks to have to pay for a big expensive ring sourage 🙂 My fiance agreed it would be better spent on other items!

Platinum jewelry is very cool. I was lookin' at rings, & out of yellow/white gold & platinum, platinum was my favorite by far. My ideal engagement ring is platinum w/yellow gold accents, & a 3/4 - 1 carat solitaire... Unfortunately that's a very expensive combination.

I have to agree with you Viper but heck I want a ring 🙂 I dunno if I will get one though hmmm... I gotta find a job now just to get me that ring 🙂

There are some beautiful pieces of jewelry being made from titanium and niobium, both of which are corrosion-proof, non-allergenic, lightweight, and reasonably priced. Platinum has snob appeal, but titanium or niobium seem like better choices for techno-geek types. And if you are bored with the colour, you can anodize titanium or niobium, causing the metal to change hue in striking ways.

If a woman really loves you, she will cherish the moment of your proposal, even if all you offer her is an onion ring as a memento.

I have absolutely no problem with the ring. It's just gonna take a little more time to acquire than another that is less expensive.

I know a guy with a platinum grill... He originally had gold and when I saw him the other day it was platinum. He is also a drug dealer though... He payed around $5000 for it.

I've seen a plain platinum wedding band for around $200.

Edit:
zales.com has a men's ring for 445, women's for 165. Hope that helped a little.

That's like asking how much does a car cost?

It depends.

What's your ring size? What diameter thickness do you want? 4 mills, 5 mills. If you are looking for a comfort fit, 4 milimeter Plat simple wedding band then you are looking at anywhere from 200-500 US realistically. You can find them cheaper but i'd wonder about the quality and whether it's legit or not.

Plat is a very expensive metal and is usually around 2.5 times the price of 18k gold, ballpark. However, what can make it more expensive is that Plat is harder to work with thus increased labor costs. It's duller in color but it's hypoallergenic and will last a long time. The reason why Plat has always been popular with engagement rings is because of the dull finish which accentuates the fire and brilliance of a well cut stone with decent color or rather, lack of it. Color range of d to maybe f/g. Conversely, a stone with warmer tones like a h and beyond will be better paired with a yellow gold shank to compliment the warmth of the stone assuming that we are talking about diamonds. Of course, when you get to fancy color stones ... whatever you want.
