Amazon has the Xgamer and the platinum 5.1 switched, but the Platinum at $99 is out of stock. Plenty of Xgamers though for $199.

I'd say it's most likely a misprint for the x-gamer 5.1 which still rules but $99 for a platinum 5.1 would definitely kick it up there because it's usually twice that right? Anyways if this is the XGamer 5.1 you are better off ordering at Buy.com it's cheaper there..

I ordered the platinum from Amazon earlier this morning. A guy at work stumbled across the pricing error last night. At the time we ordered, the pictures on the Platinum 5.1 were of the Platinum. Later in the day the X-Gamer pictures replaced the Platinum pictures. I have an order confirmation for a Platinum 5.1 at $99, but I will not be surprised if they send an X-Gamer.

Well i stumbled upon this late last night and I placed an order before, they changed the picture...Do you think that they will honor the price? Generally what happens in these events?

compare with X-gamers, I would rather get the Philips' sound card in the range of same price. It is a much better card than SB. I just want to see if CL can bully them out this time like what they did to A3d.

Amazon from my experince never gives you the price that they screwed up on. I had it happen with 5 different DVDs at a different times (most the time those DVDs were part of a larger order, to try and push the price). You will more then likely (though not always) get an email from them stating they goofed up and that you can still purchase the product for whatever they normally sell it for. I found out a few ways from just checkin my order status on my account page and seeing a message saying they screwed up yet no email. Each time they screwed me out of gettin a good deal on one dvd i cancelled the entire order of like 6 :)

Hmm the Platinum is valued at $199 and the 5.1 XGamer is around $99 bucks.. I think
these were the xgamer.. if so no big deal here.

Johnwoo,

I don't think there's a dispute over which sound card usually sells for which price. I think the possible deal here is to get the Platinum Live 5.1 for $99 from amazon, as listed by title on their site.

BUY.COM No happy campers there !!
But none of u notice that GREG HAWKINS CEO took his signture OFF of HOMEPAGE !!!!!!! Told the CSR I notice this .... did they talk up a storm ! Not to mention csr gave me a PM on Amazon's (error) SB Live Platinum 5.1 for $99 bucks. Could not find anything for a buck .... so I said the heck with it I will pay the 5.40 shipping.:D
Guess it is get even time she was working nights. I caught her on her last day, pay back time. ;) Still a few CSR with pink slips (working days only!no more 24 hours) so try to get order in BEFORE they stop taking phone orders (Was told by CSR it was to be the next step after they fired the entire night crew.)U 2 may get lucky.

BUY.COM took all their phone numbers off the site. So here it is for ya

Phunktion: You're going to have to go read some reviews. Phillips has 3 models. I believe the one everyone is talking about here is the Acoustic Edge. It is in fact 5.1. In fact it's the only card on the market to be able to output a normal 2 channel sound source in 5.1 format (actually generates a 5.1 soundfield from a 2 channel source). Has LR front output, LR rear output, and Center/Sub output. All you need is 3 pairs of speakers. Awesome card, goes for $99 retail. Only knock is that it has no optical IO, just digital coax. Can still hook up to a 5.1 receiver, just no optical.
