I'm moving from SF to LA in 10 days. I'm using a truck to move my mattress. Weather looks clear ATM, but there is a chance for rain and the weather gets even more screwy in central Cali (it could be clear one moment and raining the next). Where can a get a plastic (and preferably waterproof) cover? does such a thing exist?

Id use the plastic we use to cover the floors /funiture when we paint. ANy local hardware store should cary this, and i beleive it is around 3mm thick?? so its pretty strong.

A roll of plastic drop cloth is pretty cheap. Just start wrapping it around the mattress and use some duct tape to seal the seams.

A tarp.

i think it will still get wet...

i'm looking for something with a zipper so there is no chance of water getting in

No, if you put a tarp around it and put some duct tape on there I don't think it's going to get wet.
