Plasma TVs need refilling??

Is it true that Plasma TVs need to have their "plasma gas" refilled at a specified time interval (i.e: a couple thousand hours of use). I have no idea how plasma tvs work, but this sounds ridiculous to me.
 
Would you be interested in some high quality speakers to go along with your newly refilled plasma tv? I've got a pair right here with me in the van...

ps most look sh!t at BB or CC or whatever as they are calibrated well, have the contrast/ brigtness wacked up very high, or they are have a crappy feed on it akin to watching a 320x240 video on a 19" monitor running 1280x1024 = going to look bad.

Also stand back when viewing it. You don't sit 3-4ft away from the to view it. You sit back 8ft+.
 
I think the biggest problem is refilling the program material supply. Not much on and lots of it, followed by reruns of more of the same.

Heh.. The mental image of dragging a plasma tv down to the local nuclear plant for a plasma refill made me laugh...
