Yes.

Ok on my question no.3,You said that LCD get dead pixel problems too, But what about DLP television.Do they get dead pixels too?

And by refering to CRT front projector, your refering at normal CRT tv's right?

Thanks again

Best type of tv for digital cable viewing?ATM i got my 4:3 CRT 36" SONY WEGA, and to listen tv, i use the built in 16:9 ehnaced mode.It thin down my screen, and make it look very good( well better than this 4:3 format.I do enjoy the pic quality when watching my digital cable in 16:9, so which tv offer the same/or better image quality?

Ignorance is bliss in your case. I think any set will look good to you.

We've got and EDTV and it roxorz. So far it's always crystal clear. All the projection TV's fade when u look from side to side and are extremely heavy. The plasma is nice because its small and lightweight. It never ever fades from side to side. We like ours and i say go for it!

DLP's occassionally have a dead mirror, but it's extremely rare, and TI says they don't exist. So, if you get one, they replace your set (or at least, every single time I've heard of). So, for DLP, it's not something you should worry about.

No, this is a CRT front projector (an excellent one):

Sony VPH-G90u

yea for price value u don't get plasma. if price is no object then its more fun.. as all the actual HDTV resolution ones are very costly. the cheap ones are basically all edtv😛 dvd resolution... .3megapixel vs 1+megapix

I got one recently, a Panasonic 42PWD6UY 42" plasma. I wanted a DLP before, a Samsung one but I don't like the limited viewing angles of projections (as we have one in the family room already). Plasmas nowadays like Panasonics last for 60,000 hours or so (a lot of TV!) before it goes down to half brightness, whcih means it's still visible from that point on. Longevity-wise, the first generations were unreliable but the newer ones can last a long time.

Here's a pic of my setup at home:

It's not so much your English that bothers me (I can give you a pass for that if you're not a native speaker), but please...please, put spaces between most of your words.

Yeah, my plasma is mounted high, but the mount I have is a tiltable mount and it's perfect from where I view it at. I actually enjoy it more and more at that height because it seems perfect when I watch TV in my bed or on the couch.

haha, for some reason, i thought that the CAR POSTER was the TV!

Haha, yeah, I tried to create an illusion (sorta). That's funny how you think the car poster is the TV cuz there are wires hanging down but covered. I would like it to show no wires but that takes a lot of effort and $$

Question about the half-brigtness.I know that when it reach the half-life, brightness is cut in half( but still higher than CRT televisions ).Can it go down totally to end-of-life ( like after 120k hours ) so brigtness is inferior and its potenially not really good to look at or the max it can reach is half-life?

huh? half brightness is still brighter then crt? really?

eh, i have an old crt thats like at half brightness. well i dunno what brightness its at but its dimmer then it was..and while its usable i don't consider it "good". course don't forget crts contrast is far better in the first place. when a plasma goes dim.. ick.

eh, seems they have a 6" thick dlp from rca now 🙂 http://www.bigbangelectronics....rca/thin/dlp/wallmount

sweet as hell.. if u got the cash lol🙂

Not sure if anyone other than the manufacturers know. All said and done, 60k hours is still a LOT of hours.

hah yea pricy, but thats because its the first of its kind. and from what i've read, no sacrifices were made to the picture for its size. quite nice🙂

DUDE.

60k to half brightness = 1/2 left

Now another 60k to HALF BRIGHTNESS of WHAT YOU HAVE LEFT. So 120k hrs to 1/4 brightness of the origional.

NO ONE here apart from a few SEEM to realise that YOUR CRT IS NOT RUNNING AT FULL BRIGHTNESS ANYMORE EITHER. The change is gradual and your eyes GET USE TO THE IMAGE like that! You don't suddently go wow this image isn't bright anymore?!

As for what to get, get what your eyes and $$$ allows for you. I can't stand RPTV for the different angles and the colours at different angles and the bulk etc. Price is good but I'm also in the UK which has ah heck all on the RPTV front due to our small houses. If your eyes likes RPTV go for it. But the ultimate is of course a front projector in a darkened room 😀

Plasma screen looks great to me. DO NOT GET CHEAP ONES and blame the tech. You get what you pay for mostly in technology. Get a 6 series or 7 series Panasonic that is SET UP PROPERLY not with funky colours OR A CRAPPY RF feed!

Crappy input in crappy output. You can not expect a plasma screen to show image quality when you feed it crappy cable/ sat signal. Feed it a good DVD signal or HDTV and it will look good.

Do you play crappy 320x240 movies on your big 20" LCD that runs 1600x1200 and expect it to look 'good'? No.

Can't wait until next year when we should get a 43 Pioneer 435XDE 😎
