Hmm...I'm gonna have to try another Office Depot. I went to snag one, but they didn't want to honor the $20 off $75 online coupon, even if I showed them I actually got one via email. Unfortunately, I didn't get a $20 off $100 coupon through snail mail to use. (Had a $15 off $50, but I already used it.) If I could be sure of the rebate being honored, the $20 coupon wouldn't be such a big deal. But after some recent deals (most notably Dells), I wouldn't place the likelyhood of that happening very high.

Possible scenarios
$99 - $20 coupon - $10 OD rebate - $10 Linksys rebate = $59 - good deal
$99 - $10 OD rebate - $100 Linksys rebate = -$11 - excellent deal
$99 - $20 coupon - $10 OD rebate - $100 Linksys rebate = -$31 - Thank you!!
$99 - $10 OD rebate - $10 Linksys rebate = $79 - screw that :frown:

Cool manager. On the other hand, I have a store near me who has a raving B---- for a manager (sweet bod though) who lied to me about how many units she had in stock.

I think this deal is legit. They surely would have corrected the mistake--if there really was one made--by today you would think.

This deal is not planned. It is a mistake, and it remains to be seen whether OD will honor it. And the trikcy part is whether they will honor it 6 weeks from now after they fire the current rebate manager.

Contract would be a contract I imagine. No typo disclaimer language that I recall. Yeah, if they balk we may have to push it, but I've done it before (Viewsonic LCD).

the rebate does say the amount of the rebate, cannot exceed the price on the reciept. So the $20 coupon may not even come into play. Even if we do get the $100 rebate to work, you may only get $80 pack (or whatever the math is).

True, but you've done enough of these to know that in many cases, the company still sends the full rebate amount. Either way, free is cool.

...which would be fine in my book - it's still a free router (which I've been needing). However, should the $100 rebate not work, I'm stuck with a $79 router because I ripped the UPC off.

Isn't the rebate slip though tied to the particular purchase transaction of the router? I suppose you can separate them, but the rebate receipt is connected to the rebate slip, so I would be a little reticent to cut themm apart.

But, based on that theory, you could probably on-line order a sh-- load of these--for different "friends" of course.

Not sure it clearly states it. There is some fairly unintelligible language that could be construed to apply. In particular, it states that "Coupon value is limited to product of each SKU(s) listed above."

Interestingly, that precedes that screwed up statement that would probably have limited the number of rebates per person household or address.

Okay, I don't think this question was resolved. Because there is no clear indication as to how many rebates allowed per household, is anyone planning on suibmitting more than one for the same name/household/address?

I remember Epson had no limitation on some of their printer rebates when Dell was running a deal awhile ago and I ended up buying 5 of them (E-baying for a tidy profit) and sending in all 5 from my single home address. They came lightning fast.

Same thing here maybe? Worthwhile to chance it? Maybe not I suppose. Anyone got the cojones to email OD about it?

I don't even think there's any need to go to the store to do this (as Rally1 initimated above). Could be a little dicey, but why not just print out the posted receipt, cut off the rebate slip and send a copy of the actual receipt and real UPC and fill out the form. It says it's valid for online as well as store purchases. It also doesn't state that it has to be the original uncopied rebate slip either.

I'm adventurous, but that's even too much for me. But. if you don't mind paying $80 or so for the router anyway (which is what they sell for on Ebay right now) for all of you that couldn't get in on the store deal should try the .com route.

got one at the store and the $100 and $10 rebate forms. I asked the manager about the rebate and he printed me a form from the website = the correct $10 rebate form. I asked what would happen if I mailed inthe $100 one and he said I might get either $10 or $0 (yes zero) back. What should I do??

A free router is great, but I'm not really interested in a $80 router at this time.

Once Branded (or whomever) posts the store tag saying free, it'll add to the arsenal of fighting tools for forcing the rebate to be paid. I'm getting a delivery confirmation slip and certifying my rebate forms. I'm willing to give up a few dollars for nailing this as tight as possible.

dunno about the OD next to best buy on nicholasville road... may be some left there

Send a copy to OD. They'll honor it. Rally1 even got confirmation from OD.com. And I, personally, have done so in the past and have received my rebates.
