I currently have the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sound card. I'm looking for a headset to buy to use for gaming. I've used the Plantronics Audio .90 in the past and it worked pretty well, but I wanted to try something more high-end.

My question is, will the DSP-500 work with this particular sound card?? Is anyone using this setup right now that can give me some feedback?? I know the DSP-500s has it's own DSP processor (no separate sound card required) and I'm wondering if there are any known conflicts using it with this sound card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thx.

Shouldn't be, since they are USB as soon as you plug them in it changes your primary sound device from your standard sound card to the headphones itself. Kinda hard to explain but in a sense it's not using your sound card at all. I've used mine in several different machines without a problem.

As you said, it has its own DSP. It connects via USB and doesnt matter what sound card you have. I have the DSP-500s as well as an Audigy Platinum eX. The only problem I have is that I have to keep switching from one source to the other, depending on what I'm using (Windows audio properties --> Audio tab --> Default playback device). I haven't figured out a way to have the sound output to both the headset and speakers at once. If anyone knows how, let me know!

Hmm, I don't see the point in buying a high-end sound card like the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and turning around and letting the sound be processed by a pair of headphones. I think I'll stick with the Plantronics .Audio 90s for now.
