How exactly do I overclock my cpu, ram and video? I know it has to do with increasing the fsb and multiplier for cpu and ram.. and increasing core speed and memory speed for video.. but what incrememnts do i go buy, and what do i increase first.. multiplier or fsb.. can you tell me all the small things to do to overclock my system..

these are the options that i can change in my bios:
CPU Operating Speed
cpu fsb lock
ratio(fsb:agp;Pci) example: 4:2:1 or 3:2:1
Multiplier Factor
Speed Error Hold (on or off)

Cpu Power Supply
Core Voltage
I/O Voltage
DDR Voltage
DQ Control (center or edge dq)
cpu fast command decode(normal to ultra)

for DDR i can change
DRAM Clock (by SPD)
DRAM Timing (Manual)
DRAM CAS Latency (2.5)
Bank Interleave (enabled or disables)
Precharge to Active (Trp) .. (3T)
Active to Precharge(Tras) .. (6T)
DDR DQS input delay (auto or manual)
*Input Delay Value
DDR Output delay (Auto or manual)
*Output delay value
Command Drive Strength (Lo)
Dram Queue Depth (4 level)
Dram Command rate (2T Command)
DCLK Feedback Delay (Auto)

please post reply... thanks

It is extremely hard to unlock a XP CPU (but it is possible -- you can search for articles on how to do it). For the most part, you are stuck with Front Side Bus overclocking. Your Abit board should have softmenu III which allows for 1mhz bus speed adjustments. Keep boosting it up till you are unstable. When you increase your FSB, your ram will also be overclocked. To overclock your video card, there is a program you can download that lets you adjust its core & memory speeds in the advanced properities tab. I'm sure someone here can provide a link to where to download it.

From what I here, that P4 1.6a is a real good clocking chip.

I forgot to mention before that you need to have some real good cooling to overclock. Something better that the retail HS/Fan. Also get some good artic silver thermal past between your CPU & HS/Fan.

i have an Alpha PAL 8045, one of the best heatsinks and artic silver 3... paper thin layer of it...

also if it boots into windows does that mean the fsb increase worked right... im currently at 143 FSB (1.72ghz) , when i went to 144 FSB it was loading into windows the window windows logo and loading screen but then after that just reboot, so i went to 143fsb and it worked... is this a good increase? about 126mhz increase
