I have planned to take my GMAT sometime in August - September. I have begun the preparations...

Anyone else planning to give GMAT here in ATOT forum / or already given GMAT?

Just wondering, if i could get some advice.

Max.

Give? You mean take the GMAT? not following here

If taking, I'm doing it this saturday. We'll see. I know a few others here have taken it already.

I sat the GMAT 3 weeks ago, got through the first two sections and the test bombed out on me. It gave me two five minute breaks in a row and then went straight to the end. I was livid.

Test center told me there was nothing they could do as the test was finished. I had to go home and call GMAT, log a problem, spelling out what happened in an email. It took them 3 weeks to get back to me and give me a voucher to take a free test. They said the test center had upgraded their software the day before and forgot to load some module/code correctly for the test, morons!

So when you book the test, make sure you don't go right after a fvcking upgrade!

I did alright. If I took gopunk's approach to studying for the LSAT and applied it to my study habits, I probably could've gotten a 790 and a 178 on the LSAT, too. :p

Most important part is to do very well in the first few questions as your score range becomes defined. Bomb on the first few questions and you might as well terminate your session immediately (although it's expensive so only the rich can probably do this).
