The stuff i can get is either a

XFX
or an
Asus
or an
Chaintec
or an
Gainward.

All the ones are the base model of the card. Pick the one you would buy.

Appreciate it.

eVGA if you think you might want to step up to the 7900GTX eventually. XFX for the double lifetime warranty and price/performance ratio.

XFX of that list, i've got an XFX 7800GT and while i love it i'm still kicking myself for not getting an eVGA one.

eVGAs are having serious issues with their 7900 GT line. So, if you are going for 7900s, go with XFX for their fine quality and double lifetime warranty. Whenever you sell your card (eventually), being able to provide warranty will be a good selling point.

I've had an XFX 6600GT that I used for a few months, then slid it off to my sister which she used vigorously for WoW. The card didn't last the year.

However, I'd still vouche for XFX as the RMA process was painless and fast. She still went through WoW withdrawal, but had a new 6600GT in her hands in about a week.

I'd say in this order, top better & bottom worse:

XFX
Gainward
ASUS
Chaintec

The slap eVGA at the top if you can get it, lol.

I wouldn't say they are "serious" issues. Also those issues have now been resolved.

I would say get which ever one is cheapest since they are essentially identical.

When MFR's all go vanilla, customer service is the only variable. EVGA is striving to be on top w/customer service. Issues have been resolved. The 7900GT is pretty vanilla (add your own cooling).

Two years ago it was BFG shining. Now they're not even on the list.

The conductive Pen allows you to OC it to 7900GTX levels and beyond from what I hear. Its a mod thing.

Anyhoo... eVGA if you can get one. Otherwise go with the cheaper priced ones if you cant get the eVGA.
