I assure you, I know quite a few nice snobby restaurant. and I do pay my share when it comes to good food. Can't gurantee that you will have a good time thou, because I talk too much. :p

Now, if you visit the Virginia museum of fine arts, you can eat at any of the fan place that I've listed. VMFA is free, but donation is requested. Science museum sucks, and it is next to the Kid's museum which also sucks (They both cost money) IMO.

Depending on what your tastes and preferences are, I can offer more suggestions...

Been there. Great place for lunch. :)

I don't think anyone has mentioned the Baja Bean in downtown Richmond. It's on Broad or Main. It's in the basement of a an old school building. Real nice tex-mex type of place with good food. Not all that expensive (in line with Chilis or Applebees). Great patio outside with bar as well.

Er, that's near the VCU Dance building right? I should try it sometimes. I always go to Rio Grande when I want Mexican and If I was in the area. (Oh, and a boba tea from TT lounge, near Cary and The Boulevard)

Yeah, it's next to the campus. I've only been a couple of times. I know the owner and he's a great guy. I try and visit with him each time I pass through.

Best Mexican in the Richmond area is Don Jose's on Hull Street. It's in the 360 west shopping center. On the corner of Turner and Hull St.

Try it some time.

Hey, I love that place! Especially the sweet ranch dipping sauce that they bring you in the beginning. I usually order the steak soft tacos (taco loco?) for dinner.

Small world eh?

Wow, I can't believe nobody mentioned The Village as an eatery... Yeah, it has gone downhill a little since the new owners took over, but the food is still good and the prices are cheap... (between Belvidere & Boulevard on Grace Street) Oh yeah, if you get a sub, or anything else that has fries, opt for the chips...

Besides, where else can you go at midnight, and have a whole eatery participate when someone plays "Blister in the Sun" on the jukebox...

:disgust: I just made myself feel far too much older than I should have...

The Village? I couldn't go in there... I can't stand smokes. There used to be a cool coffee shop near there called "The Bidder's Suite", I met a guy there who turned out to be a young high school kid. :/

the richmond art museum (no idea of its offical name) is really cool -- they have a ton of stuff from acient egypt and greece which is just so old thats its amazing to be able to look at it. If you like art, I think its better than the Gallery of Art in DC

We ended up seeing the Museum of the Confederacy, White House of the Confederacy, Hollywood Cemetary, Monument Avenue and had dinner at Kuba Kuba.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Kuba Kuba was the bomb. I had the Cuban Pork with beans and rice and tostones(Fried Plantains). She had the Seared Salmon with beans and salsa. we got lucky and got there when there was only 2 other tables filled. By the time we left all the tables were filled and there were probably 30 people waiting to be seated.
