Planning on getting a new Xbox 360.

With the recent revelation that the new GOTY elite are just rebox of the old Falcons,I decided I'll get the cheaper models.

So I was wondering if I should do this. Buy the arcade model from Dell ($178 after 15%off+tax) and get the 60GB starter kit from amazon for $80. Total comes to $258 and I'm pretty sure I'm guaranteed a Jasper. Any thoughts?

Couldn't you also still be banned in the future due to firmware updates? I'd stick with an original MS drive to be safe... You can usually find 20GB drives for $30 or less if you don't actually need that much storage.

well, if you plan on downloading any DLC, i doubt the 20 gb will be enough.

i actually did that hack posted above. been working fine for about a month now.

I picked up an arcade from Dell, found a 20GB elsewhere, and did the 120GB hack myself. No problems with Live almost 6 months later. It's what I'd do again.
