Anyone have any fishing and backpacking experience in California?

I'm the best man for my childhood friend and for his bachelor party he wants to go backpacking and fishing. Probably in the Sierras, but that isn't a necessity.

No booze (he is in AA)
No strippers (they dont like camping)

Anyone have any ideas as to where specifically?

I've only done the fishing and backpacking combo at Treasure lakes, though i've done one or the other in different places.

Preferably not too tough of a hike because not everyone is in the best shape.

Thanks!

Don't be such a fruit cake. Drive to Vega, book a penthouse suite and get some tranny strippers for you bud.

Seriously... He can go backpacking and fishing when he's married... not the later

He battles with addiction, so no alcohol is important. vegas is out of the question. too many temptations. same with strippers.

Yosemite is a place that has been destroyed by tourism. Its like nature's disneyland. crowded and over run.

so you want us to tell you of another place that can then be further spoiled, and eventually over-run after word of mouth gets out?

No thanks.
