Onkyo TX-SR507 (Refurb - $250)

-Surrounds and Sub-from HTIB
Xbox 360
PS3 Slim (BR player)
WD TV Live (Ripped DVD Playback)

That's the plan. Will take a month or two or three to get it all but that should be my starter system. My only difficultly is choosing a TV and an entertainment center.

As for the entertainment center, I don't want to get something very tall and I'd like for it to include a mount for the plasma. Any ideas? I liked sixthsense'scenter if helps any.

the cab sixth has is a BDI, and yes they look really nice, however they are ungodly expensive, the models like the one he has are somewhere in the 1000-1500$ range and that does not include the mount. a good number of companies make similar units and they are similarly priced

the Lg plasmas are basically mirrors that happen to play TV. the G series from panny has its own set of issues as so the samsungs. The panny has the lowest imput lag my a good amount so as it looks like you game a lot it should be looked at, there are threads on AVS about input lag for most if not all current models

I've read the ups and downs associated with each TV and that's why I narrowed it down to those 3. The distance requires a 50" TV so that was a baseline for choosing what I wanted. I figured the cabinet he had was insanely expensive when I looked up their website.

Since I've already chosen plasma, I already intend the room to have curtains so the 550 was chosen in that hope. The 950 was chosen because it supposedly includes a anti-glare coating. The G25 was chosen because of all of the extras it has in addition to the good reviews that it has gotten. While I understand that the black levels can rise and that there is a risk of floating blacks, this is my first large HDTV and unless the issues are glaringly obvious I will probably miss them. That isn't to say that my taste will become more refined as time passes.

Thanks for the input and please keep adding stuff.
