I can't seem to download it, Steam keeps giving subscription error for some reason.

Got it going, pulling a solid 1.9-2.0 as well. Anyone want some help? Tell me where to start, new guy here. 😛

I saw someone mentioned Connery W so I am starting there. If anyone is playing feel free to add me:

ATpr0d1gy is my station name, easy enough.

It's the middle of the day though... It'll be peak by the time I get home. Oh well, I just want to reserve my name lol.

I played for about 30mins in a squad and the entire time we just sat at one building defending it with tons of other people. It appeared that no progress was being made in either direction, so I quit out of boredom.

So seems SOE is having trouble with handling launch. Played fine around 2PM but this evening the launcher didn't have the play button and now I get a cannot connect message.

Got on and was playing. But there's ~5m wait for us non-subs. I'm on Mattherson (East) VS if anyone else is. We should determine some servers so we can organize together.

well... i downloaded it... and try it out...and didnt understand shit

i managed to do some kills but i couldnt tell friend from foe until they started shooting at me... =S they all look too similar?

i watched the factions introduction video that tells you the differences between them and i chosed the NOVA one since its low recoil, fast recharge, fast firerate (that i thought would be good for my ping, not having to care much about aiming and just shooting fast and steady)

but anyway... im in... and im in connery too. but i fucking dont understand what the fck im doing.
I deployed on an enemy square (because it let me to so i thought there was some fighting in there) but once i landed i didntknow what to do... how do i capture a point? the other structures have ANY kind of utility or are there just to cover?

Yeah thats one massive problem with this game that Sony needs to address very quickly. Unless you played the original or have been reading up/watching videos for weeks you will not have a clue what to do. I am worried it will scare a lot of people off the game and they will never play it again. The best way to play is to join an outfit and get a group of people with voice communications and tactics etc. Solo play can be very frustrating.

while downloading i watched a stream that was featured on the planetside website... it was PRETTY serious as how everyone is talking

but the game needs at least some ingame helptips... when i played today there was mobile spawn point placed outside of an enemy building and we were... 30 people... and the entrance of the building had some blue energy barrier... i had no idea what to do with it, and i think nobody had idea. A small helptip in a corner saying how to destroy the barrier would have been usefull

edit: and i still have no clue what to do with the barrier. Someone said in chat something about rockets... and i have no rocket launcher

Got on Jaeger and played with my fiance's kid. We helped take some point then got stuffed at the next point. Moved on to another point but was a sniper duel with about 40-50 on each side.

I spent most of my time roaming the hills as a heavy killing their snipers. Really fun knifing them in the back as that class lol. Eventually quit due to boredome and played GW2 for the rest of the night.

Yeah it's really confusing and unfriendly to newcomers. I hear some lady say this and that is lost and so and so is restored but have absolutely no idea how/what exactly was lost or how it was restored or even how it impacts the game.

It's not clear at all how territory is lost or gained to me, or even what exactly I need to do to get a new weapon.

I'm going to do some reading up on all this but I can really see how it's going to turn away players.

Joining a squad is of no help, I've joined like 5 different ones and it hasn't changed my experience at all except I can see where these specific players are now. I'm guessing it's full noob squads.

People also say to join an outfit, but how? What is an outfit, a guild? The only option I could find for that is to create my own.
