Sup to you mate. Just be aware that most people arent there for that.

I'm also slightly D: at the shitty gym changing rooms that you guys use. Every one I've ever used has cubicles for changing in and cubicles for showers.

The gym I go to has an open-style locker room, but it does have cubicle showers and toilet stalls.

There is a tendency for any old men present to just roam around with it all hanging out. I definitely would prefer they refrained from doing that. D:

I don't mind the open locker area so long as the showers are individual.

When I was younger and we went to this one health club that hadn't yet been replaced by a Golden Corral (true story), I loved it there because it had a 25m pool (I think, may have been longer) and plenty of racquetball courts. I do miss that place because no other gym in town has racquetball save for the university's fitness center, and they had a good selection of machines and weights but were small in that regard compared to the gym I go to now.

However, I do not, at all, miss the damned open shower bay they had. Old fat guys ogling young ol' me. There was a hot tub/whirlpool attached to the shower bay but the entire time I went there it was closed. Too much naked ass and horrible stuff probably happened in there. D:

I just miss the damned racquetball. Haven't played in forever now because of it. Played a few times with roommates at my own university's recreation center, but not enough come to think of it. And now I can't at all. :(

Are they in the correct changing room?

Well then thats dandy. Just squeeze in there, no need to feel uncomfortable apparently.

See this doesnt sound like the type of place thats trying to appeal to women.

Or heterosexual men come to think of it. :(

Men don't want to see wang either.

At least we aren't blindsided by it in the men's locker room. That's where it's supposed to be. One way you know women are different from men is that 90% of us would be just fine with naked vagina in the men's locker room too. Women generally aren't like that. They don't appreciate the prospect of unexpected wang the same way we would appreciate unexpected vag.

LOL I have no idea. Every gym shower room I have been in was the community kind. Wang to the wall please!

I suppose new gyms have better facilities. The last gym I was a member of didn't offer showers and lockers were out in the open. Bathrooms were sorted by penis.

That's fine and dandy until a manager tells an 'authentic' transgender that they are just sicko trying to get into the opposite sex bathroom. Then what?

That is what civil courts and rational, thinking judges are for. Thinking > zero-tolerance.

All laws and rules should be written so the intent is very clear. Then we can use common sense in the application so we don't have injustices done in the name of following the letter of the law.

This is why good laws have some flexibility built in but very specific about the problem they are trying to solve. The laws of society should never force us to disregard our common sense.

This is a concept more folks should understand, rather than trying to game the system based on the letter of the law they can find a loophole in.

If using the other room is so important to them, what is so hard about getting to surgery. Really if you think your a woman in a mans body, then fix it permanently. Until then your a man in a mans body. So simple.

Perhaps you should start a fund to pay for that for those who can't afford it.

Meh...if you have a penis, you should NOT use the women's bathroom or changing room. Even though you might "identify" with being female, you're still male.

What if you are a hermaphrodite and have both?

So you're saying by default that equals a male only?

See the problem there? Look I'm not saying one way or another, but I can understand why someone would be concerned. Today they can go in the female bathroom. Tomorrow the male bathroom. Go into whichever one gets them off that day with that logic.

I'm not sure if there is a single way to fix this without offending one side or the other. Obviously a gay/bi/tran bathroom would be tooooottttally offensive, so we can't go that route.

True Hermaphroditism (46XX/46XY) is very rare, like 1 in 100 million births.

Doesn't matter. It's a possible situation you need to account for, because it is a possibility. You need to account for every hypothetical in your defense. The being surrounded by 20 trans in a shared shower is another good one. Would you lose comfort in that? Or the hermaphrodite case?

Again - I don't have the answer, and I know it's not simple.

This. If nothing else you get to use a urinal, something a lot women are jealous of.
