DVD, HD DVD, and Blu-Ray sets are on sale at Amazon for like 30% off.
All are pre-orders and will be released on April 24th.

I should also mention that its the UK version narrated by David Attenborough.

Sigourney Weaver version at Discovery.com's Store. Not out until May 7 and still $79.95. Amazon doesn't seem to have this version listed.

DVD
Normally $79.98 - now $53.99

HD DVD
Normally $99.98 - now $69.95

Blu-Ray
Normally $99.98 - now $69.95

Yeah, this should go in Hot Deals but I posted here because there are so many fans of it in here.

I already ordered mine!

Excellent show, been watching it every Sunday night. Amazing footage, I still can't believe some of the stuff I've been watching.

funny, because i just updated my OP about this.

This is the BBC UK version narrated by David Attenborough. Amazon doesn't seem to have the one narrated by Sigourney Weaver. It's the same video footage though, just different narrator.

Discovery.com has the Sigourney Weaver version for pre-order but it's not out until May 7th and still costs $79.95.

So if you don't mind a British male narrator, go for the versions I linked above.

I'd go ahead and order it but I'm not sure which way I'll end up going HD-DVD or Blu-Ray (plus I need a HDTV)

And then order it in an HD format a year or two from now? I'll pass. Unless the wife really wants it.

i watched it on SD TV when it was aired the 1st time and it looked amazing. i don't have hd dvd or blue ray players yet and probably until they come down to less than $100 or one of them is declared the winner.

dvd is still good enough for me.

Is this actually a good documentary, or is most of the appeal of it the purty pictures? I couldn't care less about the visuals, I like content that I can learn from. There's a thread on the IMDB boards that is reinforcing my concerns.
