Is it possible to order the ones narrated by David Attenborough from anyplace other then AmazonUK?

I don?t want the Sigourney Weaver versions and I can?t find where to order them from other then AmazonUK and would rather not pay a massive shipping fee to get them here

I got mine from Amazon.com US and they were narrated by David (the HD-DVD version though).

I borrowed the set from my coworker, who bought it off amazon.com and it's narrated by David...

1/2 way watching through the first episode, my wife said "We should buy the set for ourselves..." Its that good...

I'm pretty sure all the versions have him at least as an option. whoever thought it was a good idea to have someone else narrate is a moron.

same here.

although I must say, I'm quite disappointed that both options, including the documentaries aren't available on the HD sets. I know it's a BBC product...but c'mon!

Of course, I prefer Attenborough...

I don't think there is a US version. It's a BBC production, so all sets should be the same..

As a matter of fact, I am watching it right now on my HD Dvd. It looks amazing!

Do they both read the same script? Does Attenborough also say "Planet Earth" 200,000 times in each episode?

Everytime someone watches Planet Earth in lo-def, baby Jesus strangles a kitten.

As for the Weaver commentary, I can only guess the marketing braintrust concluded that Merkins would balk at Der Queen's Englische. Which is queer, given how articulate Sir Dave is. Sadly, they could just well be Merkins themselves and may not be wrong, at least in part. Still, I agree that the original track should at least have been included as an option.

If the deep ocean looks a lot like a fish tank and "Attenborough" sounds kind of "Chinesey", then that is a distinct possibility.

No...but they did come from one of those Hong Kong sellers :Q. They seem real enough, and for ~$30, I wouldn't be too bugged if they were just good imitations this whole time.

Pic 1 - all of the goodies
Pic 2 - back side of the flaps and back of the case
Pic 3 - reflective front...ooo shiny

'Bout as good as my webcam that can't focus at <2 ft can do.

AFAIK, the only place to get the Weaver narrated PE is from the Discovery Channel store. All the PE boxes that I've seen in stores have been the BBC version. B&M stores and Amazon included. The Weaver narrated version (Discovery Channel) is clearly labeled with the Discovery channel text and logo.

Well, it's nice that they have someone to look after them.

As to counterfeits, another give-away is that the real series does not dedicate an episode to Habitrails.

All of them from ebay and half.com I've seen were Attenborough narrated.
