Just saw a blurb on Fox News that a plane had to be landed in Houston because of an "unruly passenger". Fighter jets escorted the flight to safety.

Good point.

Razors are a no-no, especially today.

A Northwest Airlines jetliner en route from Memphis, Tenn., to Las Vegas, was diverted to Fort Smith, Ark., after a report that four passengers among the 94 people on board were acting suspiciously. At least three of the men later locked themselves into a bathroom on the jet and had to be talked out by negotiators.
Initial reports indicated that other passengers became concerned when the four, who were described as being of Middle Eastern descent, were seen ?shaving themselves clean,? raising fears that they might be be involved in a suicide plot. (Documents found in the luggage of attack leader Mohamed Atta gave what appeared to be instructions for the suicide hijackers: ?The previous night, shave the extra hair from the body (and) pray.?)
But the FBI later said that after questioning the passengers and crew, agents determined that the scare was a misunderstanding that occurred after one of the men was seen ?shaving the back of his neck in the airplane?s bathroom.
?It?s a big nothing,? an FBI official told NBC News.

An American Airlines jet en route from Houston to Dallas was escorted back to Houston by Air Force fighter jets after a flight attendant saw what she thought was a passenger with a forbidden item on board, possibly either a small pocketknife or a razor.
According to KPRC TV in Houston, air marshals took control of Flight 1702, a Folker F-100 flight, which had 50 passengers on board, after two passengers were involved in some type of disturbance, and instructed the pilot to return to Houston.
The FBI later said that the item in the passenger?s possession was determined to be a pocket comb.

Unfortunately, airport security seems to be viewed as a job that we only need to pay people $6/hour to do so of course it's filled
with.. ummmm.... 'unmotivated types'. :)

Plenty of 'stuff' is getting through.

You can have a normal shaving razor on board...just not like a razor blade...exacto knife etc...Sorry but you cant hold up a plane with a mach 3.

So a bic disposable razor and a pocket comb caused all the fuss today? WTF?

I still wonder what motivated the 3 to lock themselves in the bathroom.
