Received mine, it is the black one, not the silver. Placed my order over the phone, could not get the 10% off that a lot of people got, but got an "employee discount" of 5% and free shipping. Excellent deal nonetheless.

Received the "will ship on or before December 29" email, but arrived yesterday.

This reminds me of the Seagate HD deal, the Sony DVD writer deal and so many other Dell deals. First they are overwhelmed by the orders, then it appears nothing is happening, next they send out notes about delay and you can cancel if you wish to and next thing you know, your order arrives.

Quite honestly, people should know better by now. All that talk about lawsuits, BBB and whatnot. Whatever happened to: if it is too good to be true... I rarely have seen Dell not come thru.

Did anybody else e-mail them about the additional $25 off coupon? $360 for a decent 18" LCD would bring this close for me.

The LCD is BLACK tho, not silver as stated!

Anyone know if the Silver one is worth more or not?

I've never seen the silver version, does it look nicer? It would be nice if someone can provide somewhat detailed pictures of the silver planar LCD. I'm judgin whether to call in for an exchange or not...

i just called dell (1800 624-9897 x80564), spoke to a mary and asked for a replacement monitor. she asked if i had anything in mind, gave her the part number for the 1901fp (19") and she offered it to me for $400. countered with $375 but she didnt budge - ended up ordering the 19" and she threw in free next day shipping for me.
 
patiently sitting and waiting and hoping....i wouldnt mind the black one, but ill happily accept the silver one also.

and yes i did receive the delay e-mail and promptly replied. c'mon dell!!!!! 😀

Pic of black version. Pic of silver version. I haven't seen the silver version live. The black one is very nice, though. I would take a black one any day.
 
Funny thing is I ordered asked for %10 off they said yes and no tax... then i got a e-mail saying tax and no %10 off from the general accounting office. so it was $46 more than I thought. It was $326 and I was pissed so I cancelled! I got my cancellation e-mail and later it sounded like I shouldn't have had cause even at $326 it was still a great price on a High quality Monitor. Plus It looked like Dell was going to cut everyone off and say sorry about your luck! So I was Bummed...

This morning the doorbell rings and low and behold a PLANAR PX171M-BK (Black) was there! this thing is beautiful no dead pixels and fantastic DVD playback too... A ton better than my Microtek!

weird a canceled order I wanted and in a better color!😛😛😀

I'm gonna call dell and see id I can get that %10 off as it was supposed to be cancelled for that reason we'll see... can't hurt 😕😎

I responded that I wanted to wait for the Planar yesterday several hours before the cutoff time, but they cancelled my order anyway!!

Mine showed up yesterday. It's black. It's quite heavy compared to the Pyxscape of the same size - I think due to the "real" stand that this thing sits in. It rotates 90 degrees and comes with the software for that. I got to say, that I wish I didn't order it. It's got a beautiful picture with BRILLIANT colors. I wish I didnt order it because if I move Opera from it back to my $730 2000FP, the 2000FP looks washed out, like my Pocket PC in the sunlight.

Not when he probably paid $700+ for the 2000FP 😛

 
Well, I was one of the unfortunate one that ordered on the 8th and got an email about the 60 day delay. I could not wait and needed one soon. I decided to call in and after 5 minutes got transferred to customer retention if there is such a dept at Dell. Anyway, I ended up with a substitute, Dell 1901, for $325 shipped. The item is now in transit so should be at my doorstep. I would rather wait but 60 days is intolerable to me.
