Well, it's pretty standard now to see 17 going for around $300.
The last coupon off at Dell SB had 4-5 models at that price.

Planar PX171M-SI has DVI input; that's why I jump on it.

You cannot get a 17" LCD with DVI in this price.

this monitor rocks.... i payed $430 for it 3 months ago and use it for gaming (BF 1942, etc.). The image quality is top motch and Planar's customer service is second to none. Also, no dead pixels. If you get a dead pixel just call a Dell sales rep (in New Delhi ;)) and send it back for a new one.

This deal is very HOT imho. DVI input, 16ms and 17". What more do you want for $310? You can't find anything close to this for the money and with no rebates.

Then you should give Planar a call. 3 or more dead pixels and they'll replace the monitor. That's the best dead pixel policy in the business.

I've had great luck with Planar in the past. I used to own 2 of these, and both lasted 3+ years (they've since been given away as hand-me-downs to my parents and my brother, and they're still working well AFAIK).

Anyway, I would totally jump on this, except I got the Dell UltraSharp 18" a while back for $380ish.

This SUX!

our main accounting office took back the 10% discount I gave you a while ago
'cause it was way behind our the monitor's cost margin. Sorry about that sir.
You have the option to call our customer care department for a consession item
such as a printer or digicam.

Then the dick asked me why I get %10 off I said cause I asked for it and he said yes.

he started to argue with me and I said "forget it bro just cancel my order."

My order was confirmed at $280 then my e-mail came and it was $329!!!!! NO thanks good price but not a Great price.

Fvck dell

Do not ask for a discount unless you have a reason to get one. I think I am gonna call them back and raise some hell. Anyone know if customer care is in India? If so I will not bother.

Woo hoo:

Date of Purchase: 11/09/2003
Estimated Ship Date:eek:n or before 11/12/2003

Placed the order 6hrs ago (haven't received the conf emails??), but the order shows up with an estimated ship date of Wed!

I'll be very pleasantly surprised if it actually ships this soon, with all the activity over at FW with this deal.

Thanks OP!

[edit: to call dell for possible order adjustment: 800-449-3355 x4, enter order/cust#, 1, 1, 4, 2 (not that I had any luck with getting a 10% discount :)]

Silly question, but for those who already have this monitor: How much sound do those 1 watt speakers output? Can they play an MP3 at a decent enough volume for someone sitting a few feet from the monitor? Not looking to fill the whole room with sound, but if I can get rid of desktop speakers, all the more space I have on the desk.
