Just making sure...no ghosting or anything in DVDs or games, correct? Thanks.

Dell's online shop doesn't have their black version of this monitor listed, so I was wondering if anyone here has the Sapphire Blue version?

How does it look?

I'm asking first hand experience - I've seen the enlarged picture, but that's still a somewhat small picture.

Thanks. :)

Hmmm.......the semi clear frame makes it kinda cheap looking. I dunno, just some of my first impressions. :\

beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;) I have the sapphire blue translucent 18.1" version and to me it's great. it complements my case and my lamps as well. It also doesn't look too stuffy which i like. I am so sick of black and that beige color for computer stuff.

I have both a 15" blue and 17.4 clear and like the look of the clear a lot more. The blue is somewhat dull looking. Do not get the red one for sure. Of course, this is only my opinion. Here is a pic of my clear one

I ordered an 18.1"w/DVI Planar after tons of research(and people saying good things about them) and I have finally pulled the trigger, even though i'm a little worried about the gaming(ghosting), I can always return it if it's unbearable.

I had to suffer with a crt for 2 weeks while i was home for winter break from school. when i got back, my reaction was "Sweet Sweet Monitor! I love you!"

you might want to consider this before you order :-]

Cool, thanks for the opinion. :)

Yeah, there's a limit for the amount I will risk on someone that I've never done a deal with before. It's one thing to risk $100, it's another when it's $700. :p

Plus, the 17.4 is 680 - 10% = 612 shipped.

I couldnt believe how sharp everything was when i got back - literally! I had to take a second look.
Be sure to use the dvi input - the difference is night and day!

I love my 18.1" Planar LCD and wouldn't trade it for anything.

While I'm at it...anyone have any reviews for the ATI Radeon 7000? I can't find any and I just need a video card with DVI, decent gaming for UT (and overall, but whatever - I haven't gamed in months), and DVD decoding...so a Radeon 7000 seems to be up my ally - cheap too. :)

Give me some recommendations on a video card with DVI out! :D (keep it cheap too...)

There is ghosting if i look hard for it. Under normal use (gaming, movies, etc) its not noticeable.
