you gotta be out of your fvcking mind. while this girl is off cheating and getting good grades in school, there are honest students working their asses off and do a good job but not better than her plagiarized work. if she doesnt get caught then she is goign to screw the other honest students out of their careers and opportunities.

i was disappointed that the blogger didnt turn the girl in himself.

:D That's cool. He shouldn't have given away her real last name in the blog, but he sure should have emailed the Dean.

There's a big difference between quoting an article without a reference and paying someone to write a paper for you. They are both plagarism, but the later is despicable. It's about time one of these cheaters faced the facts and got what they deserved. If you're dumb enough to pay someone to write an essay for you, much less a random individual on the internet, you don't deserve to be in college. If only every cheater received the full punishment that the internet has to offer, I'm sure it wouldn't happen so often. The truth hit "Laura" like a freight train, and I'm sure it is going to leave a mark. Perhaps others will learn from her stupidity.

Great post taken from the blog:
Plagiarism is next to Murder and Treason in that they are high crimes. It sounds dramatic, but the very definition of a crime is the breaking of a rule of some group, and a high crime is a crime considered so heinous it can lead to expulsion from that group. Murder is a high crime in society, Treason of nationality, and Plagiarism of academy.

One might say that surely plagiarism is worse than murder or treason, but it's not true, because all crimes are relevant only to the groups whose rules they break. Committing treason might make you unpopular to your countrymen, but one country's traitors are another country's heroes. Murder will get you locked up pretty quickly, but they won't revoke your nationality for it.

Similarly, you can commit murder and treason in one fell swoop, but you'll maintain your degrees. Unless, of course, you're a plagiarist. Plagiarism is worse than murder to an academic, and the punishment administered for committing it?expulsion?is in line with other groups' high crimes.

That raises the question of whether you should entrap someone who tries to get you to help them cheat, and the answer is simple. If I asked you to help me kill someone, or to help me betray my country, you know two things. First, you know if you don't help me, I will probably get someone else to help me. Second, unless you are a murderer or a traitor as well, you know I have to be stopped.

Or maybe I'm just draconian.
.

whoa. that was awesome.

Agreed.

sad that she made the decision to throw it all away. hope she likes working at wal-mart.

LOL why wasn't i surprise that she was Indian? I don't know if it's like this in the US, but in Canada, the cheating amongst the Indians is RAMPANT. Anyways, i don't think the punishment is severe... she probably would have been kicked out of the school anyways if caught.

she's not indian? her last name isn't krishna, the blogger just made it up to protect her

Well, i confess to not reading the actual blog... but i put alias, plus doing a hindu paper, finding a hindu person to write the paper, together. But if not, then maybe just being touched by anything hindu causes a person to cheat then /shrug

Tell me the truth, you're just feeling left out because you haven't been "touched" by a Hindu yet, right?

The dark side of too-high expectations...

About all the bloggers calling her and the school, I found this comment to be hilarious:
I called both Laura and the Dean. But not really for any reason; just cause I was lonely.
There's some great comedy sprinkled throughout that blog.

Oh, and the girl deserves the public humiliation. Plagiarist, fraud and liar; she deserves what she gets.

The most despicable part was where she tried to scam him out of the money. 75$ was a good deal, and she even lacked the character for that. Disgusting.
