the imperial palace, god that place sucked ASS! they were rude, the food sucked, there was a fire in the building and they didn't give a sh!t. never ever stay or play there, it reaks of cheapness...

best place was the marage(sp?) completely friendly, fairly inexpensive. great food, lousey entertainment. right across the street from the venitian tho, which is awsome.

That sucks....where is that hotel? Stay away from the Luxor also. Good buffet there though.

I concour, WAY overpriced. the staff sucks, and the view from the side where the rooms are over the floor, is ugly as a motherfvcker.

Las Vegas Hilton is the epitome of great customer service. Good deals can be had there. Its the hotel of choice for all the convention-goers, being right next to the convention center and all. It has that awesome Star Trek Experience too.

Bellagio and Venetian are also great. I hear lots of good things about Paris and Aladdin as well.

I loved the Startrek Experience. I wish I could have gone back again (tickets are good all day), but there wasn't enough time. There gift shop was the best gift shop I've ever seen.

I'm not sure if someone mentioned this earlier, but the San Reamer hotel is super ghetto. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for. THe casino is just a joke.

Last year I brought my wife with me to a 3-day conference that I HAD to go to in Vegas. 😉

I went to my conference during the day and we hit the strip at night together. The illegal immigrant porno flyer people were embarrassing but the rest of the strip was fun.

The conference was at the Frontier so I stayed there for 1/2 a night. I had an allergy reaction to some chemicals that they used to clean the carpet so we moved next door to the Stardust. We stayed there 1 day (semi tacky) and finally moved to Harrah?s. Harrah?s was so great we stayed there the rest of the week. Can you say party time?

We brought home about $300 to the good. 🙂

stayed at the aladdin on my last visit....excellent buffet and nice clean rooms. will never ever stay at a *Station casino no matter how cheap it is...but at least they were dealing 2 deck black jack instead of the 6-deck nonsense at the Strip casinos.

mgm is nice
we stayed there in june
the tropicana is a dump
i swear they pipe in some nasty perfume smell in the casino.
its gross.

I have stayed at the Sahara, and Excalibur. They were both great in my opinion. I won lots of money too😀

The reason the Tuscany didn't have a shuttle, is that they want you to spend all of your money there.

I'm staying at the Flamingo next month...any bad things about that place? I can't wait to hit the pool 🙂

I was there in May and it was nice, great location. It was my first time in Vegas, but I didn't see any problems with the hotel. The pool is great!!

here are my short reviews of hotels:

mgm: nice, decent size rooms, clean.
paris: nice, decent size rooms, clean.
aladdin: nice, decent size rooms, clean.
monte carlo:nice, decent size rooms, clean.
mirage: nice, decent size rooms, clean.
ballys: nice, clean, huge room (i don't know how i got one 2nd to the last floor with an awesome view and i got it for $55/night to boot).
venetian: extremely nice, huge room (its all suite), super clean
mandalay bay: very nice, big rooms, very clean
tropicana: its a dump, esp. the garden rooms, not clean, smelly. the only thing is a nice pool.

what i remember so far.

Well, it had the opposite effect. The casino is tiny and since they pissed me off, I made it a point not to spend any money there.

My list:
San Remo
Palace Station
Imperial Palace
Paris (I had money to blow and they kicked me out)

Though I know these places just because I'm a cheap ass.

Station Casinos are great for the low decks blackjack (walked away with a cool $1,000 and another $1,200 from craps) ... sadly, I blew it all on helicopter rides, viper rental, Blue man show, super ultra food, paying off a CC, and losing it back to the Bellagio... yup, good times.

I usually stay at my moms in N. Vegas when I go, although I haven't been in about 6 or 7 years. The last time I went was for the International Golf Show at the Convention Center about 5 years ago and I stayed at the Stardust Motor Lodge directly behind the tower.

For the time I stayed in the room it was actually cool and was like 60 foot from the casino. But since I'm not really a gambler it didn't matter.
I flew from Charlotte on a Sunday night, stayed a week at the Stardust and flew back to Charlotte on a Saturday night all for like $380.
The boss got a deal!

I lived there for a couple of years and it's probably one of the best places to live if you're an outdoor person or like the night life. The last time I was living there I worked all day at the Los Prados Golf Club, went home and showered and sat around in the AC and then went down to Caesars and watched Robbie jump the falls from the front row.
And I've got it on tape if anyone wants it. 🙂

The best way to see how each casinos cust. serv. is is to spend some time in the lobby watching it when you venture into one.

Thats crappy, did you still stay there? Do you have to find another hotel?

Yeah we still stayed, but got a King with a pull-out bed when we originally booked a double. 🙁

It's a few blocks off the strip on Flamingo.

I always thought that Customer Service was supposed to be a priority in Vegas....

Oh, also, the concierge couldn't get a taxi to save his life. We did better ordering one from our room.

amish

Most the hotels on the strip have excellent customer service like Treasure Island, MGM, Venetian, etc. These are hotels I've actually stayed in.

Decent ones are Excalibur and suprising Harrah's. Harrah's is pretty cheap for a Hotel located on the strip.

I didn't care too much for the Luxor when I stayed there. For those guys who are into pretty Asian girls, the California is pretty decent hotel. Its own by Japanese corporation, so they get tons of Japanese tourists.

Maybe you'll have better luck next time Amish

Newbish

california..that's in downtown, at the edge of the Fremont Ave canopy. Great, cheap prime rib dinner. $5.95 for complete prime rib dinner. YUM!!! but why would anyone stay downtown???

i'm staying at the Casino Royale (next to the Venetian) at the end of this month. staying for 6 days. got comped 4 days. paying $60/day for the other 2. hopefully, i'll get comped for those too

and if u want a decent inexpensive place, try Sam's Town. 6 miles east of Tropicana. Most extensive shuttle service in Vegas. also has a ton of full pay video poker, and 20x craps. $40/nite, but u can get $30/nite if u book from hotels.com. note: avg age = 50+

did u got the helicopter ride to grand canyon? if so, which company did u go with, and where is it located?

So much misinformation in this thread. I don?t know why Tuscany does not have Strip shuttle service but it?s a five minuet walk to center strip for Christ sakes. For the poster who thought you where out tipped of your room. I don?t think so. Convention group coordinators makes mistakes and forget to block certain amount of rooms they need or have to readjust them at the last minuet. Conventions are the mid week anchor in Vegas. You don?t think we built all these rooms for the weekend crowd do you ? If you booked your room with a Park Place Property "hint' you would have gotten a big room upgrade at another available property if your room was taken away due to this type of error. For the Poster who thinks that the California Club is owned by the Japanese. Wrong, Boyd Gaming owns the property. The Boyd family is far from being Asian. The California Club marketing team does market heavy to the Hawaiian groups that why you see allot of Asians playing there. As for service, its luck of the draw and inconsistent at every property in Vegas. Every Hotel in town goes through staff shortage problems, unmotivated service, pissed off service staff at certain times. We have all encountered it one time or another in all aspects a a consumer. These Hotel Casino are owned by mega corporations who use a formulated way of staffing like every other corporation in America. And for those who get tossed from the Casino, it?s because you?re where making an ass of yourself.
