PJ. So now you can test the performance of your P4M against the performance of your original processor to see which is better. Right? UT2003, Winzip(Mechbgon), Q3, etc. Man, you've just scratched the surface. Your Sandra scores are excellent. But you're gonna see an impressive overall performance increase with this dual channel memory system that doesn't show up in Sandra memory scores.

Well, with the 175 fsb limitation, I have not had much more motivation to test anything else. I am combing everything I can find and making calls to see if I can get another bios or something to help. I don't have Q3, UT 2003, or the Winzip (Mechbgon). I have UT, and the 2003 UT demo. I never, until now, had been to much into running all those tests. I would build a system, and stress it with memtest and prime 95, then run some Sandra benches. I am just getting into the hard core Oclocking, so I don't quite have all the necessary proggies.

PJ,

I just took a look at your scores (impressive!) and think that something is definitely wrong:(. Your scores peak at about 166 fsb, right? And your board won't POST beyond 1949.xMHz, right? Well 12 (the P4m multiplier) x 166 = 2000, right around your mobo MHz limit on this cpu:Q. It doesn't appear to me that your cpu/mem speed is increasing in performance even though you're increasing the fsb setting value in the BIOS. What do you think? Does this seem to be what's going on for you

Superman CK's thread has some of the benches you'll desire to test your new system. Mechbgon's winzip test is just testing with a stop watch how long it takes winzip to zip Unreal tournament disk 1. The Rambus and dual channel boards are phenomenal in this task. Little basic everyday tasks that you do with your computer now will take considerably less time to complete. For instance, i don't know if you noticed yet that even your defragging is taking much less time to complete than usual. Have fun with it until the bios upgrade comes. Also, Thugs and Mikki will be getting dual channel boards too. So, you'll be able to compare their results with the P4M to yours.

Yes, I believe that is exactly what is going on. Really wierd!

here's hoping its only a bios update or something simple to fix & not a chipset issue

well if it is a chipset issue, it only applies to the P4m cause i rechecked the tom'shardware article where they overclocked that 3.06 to 4.1 ghz & they ran the asus graite bay at 195 fsb to do it

I don't think it is chipset. BIos OR it is something with my setup. We'll find out within a week. There are boards on the way to people who will be doing the GB and p4m. That should shed some light.
