I gotta say the xmspc3000 may have been my best purchase of last year....considering the performer it is an the fact I played the market well and bought it during the memory freefall last year....

Just wondering what your actual voltage shows up ? I know Asus overvolts but by how much ?
If you can give me your actual voltage, then i can bump up my voltage on my BH7 since my Abit BH7 undervolts....highest i got out of it @ 1.47v was 180 FSB. I needs 1.52v actual for 185FSB....

since your board overvolts, i want to know what actual voltage is the chip getting for 187 FSB (i have tested mine w/ 1.65v actual @ 190FSB rock stable again....still to test w/ 1.52v @ 190FSB ... that i will be doing over the weekend).

so far, the only problem i am having is the overreading of temps by BH7..

guys,

the only voltage that really matters, is voltage under load.
tossing around idle vcore numbers is pointless.

:)

hi THUGS:)

so would you be asserting, then, that a 1.81Vcore idle would be okay, as long as the Vcore under load dropped to 1.70V or less?

You know that's not what he's saying Erik, why are you busting his chops?

Ya, nice OC.. These newer Multi VID C1 SL6RZ are kicking ass.. Got one myself doing 195 FSB at only 1.6V idle, about 1.56V underload running Prime95..

Well, I really think I am at a Mboard/Chipset limit for this board. It may also be temp related. 187 stable is the best I can get. Does not matter what else I do. Vcore gets me no more really. Maybe 1 or 2 fsb, but that is it. North Bridge heat sink is fairly warm, so I could have a heat realted problem as well. I will do some tests this weekend to see what the deal is.

This has really got me hungry for the Abit canterwood board. It is gonna be along month!

Hehe

Yup, very nice chip. I can't get the vcore any lower than 1.525 in bios. If you are keeping up with the thread on Overlcockers FOrum, they are actually lowering the vcore to go higher... wish i could do the. Bigtoe e-mailed The_Mad for me to see if he can mod the bios for lower vcores. We will see.

It could just be my chip is at its limit. But it will not do one more drop with any extra vcore. That is why I am looking for something else. I am quite content to leave it at 185 fsb...

Well, I did happen to grab a SL6RZ. My experience with low-default voltage ain' that good, thuogh.

Have to use 1.70v to get to 167x18, but so far it's running great. DDR memory speed is at 413, so it's not too bad for my 2 sticks of Kingston "normal" DDR333 512mb.

Wonder how you guys get all those low-voltage work...if I leave it as default at this speed, no screen.:p

Man, I guess it really is luck of the draw with those C1's, becuase my BO will almost do what your C1 is doing, Dean_Jen. I am at 165 FSB with 1.74 vcore and the stock intel cooler.

Since you are running a 4:5 ratio it is clear you are not running a GB mobo....What mobo are you running???

It is luck of the draw as Thugs has had quite a few c1 chips that didn';t make 3ghz or just at while many ppl here have had c1's in the 3.2 to 3.4ghz range....
