My favorite pizza is no more.

Pappina's in Lincoln Park, MI.

Mama Pappina was 80 years old and 300 lbs. when the resurant suffered water damage 2 years ago.

I'm still in mourning.

BTW-a topless dancer I used to out with got mama pappina hoked on lapidary (long before I went out with her) to the point that she bought a mine in Canada and decorated the resultant in semi precious stones. It was neat.

Pizza Hut sucks now. It used to be a lot better years ago. I also hate trying to deal with the idiot kids working the phones at our Pizza Hut and Papa Johns. And yes, PH is way too salty. One slice of some of theirs has more salt than you should have in one day.

Unless my eyes decieve me, none of those numbers under sodium is larger than 2400...
True, but whatever. That's the recommended max level. Still more than you should have in a day. You stick to 2400. Too much IMO. Max recommended to prevent hypertension is 1500 (some recommend 1000).

thick crust: Lou Malnati's Pizzeria in Chicago

honerable mention to Giordano's in Chicago.

You missed Rosatti's they're at least equal to Girodano's both have their own taste.

Lou Malnati's is an experience and honestly it's awesome stuff... but Giordano's and Rosatti's are what I would order usually.

Thank god I live in Chicago... I love food to much to live anywhere else... 😀

I work at Lou Malnati's, and would have to agree with the OP on deep dish. We have the best, no contest. Thin crust in the Chicago n/w burbs would be a toss up between Jake's and Rosatis IMO..

Favorite Place: Pequod's in Chicago, IL., and Folliero's in Los Angeles, CA. Numero Uno's and thick crust pizzas are great.

Favorite Topping: Plain cheese... otherwise it's Pinapple and Sausage.

I like Gino's East or Edwardo's in Chicago. I stop at one of them just about every time I'm there.

There's also a great place near Denver, CO, called Beau Joe's. Great pizza, and an even cooler restraunt.

I'm not a fan of NY style pizza, but we do have a place near us that does California style, and it's definitely worth passing up Domino's / Pizza Hut for it.

Hey. What's the best pizza in Manhattan? Not mike's pizza, not domino's.
I like Totonno's and Lombardi's.

Those 2, Grimaldi's, Louisiana Pizza Kitchen in NO, and Beau Jo's in CO are my favorites for their different styles of pizza.

A couple years back, I was in NYC with some friends. We at a place called Gino's and other called Ozones (sp?). I believe both are in Brooklyn .. maybe Queens. Ginos had great NY style pizza (large thin crust) and Ozones had amazing sicilian pizza.

Another great place is Gratto's at Rehoboth Beach, DE.

Is Beau Jo's a chain? I've only seen the one I was at, but it was damn good.

I know there's one in Idaho Springs and one in Denver. And it is damn good. It's very different from any other type of pizza I've ever had. The honey wheat crust is amazing!

Thanks, just looked them up. Apparently the one I was at was in Idaho Springs.

My kind of thread.

The best pizza I've ever had was Godfather's here in TN, back in the early 80's (I used to play Donkey Kong in there every time). Too bad it shut down after a few short years. In the last couple years I've seen Godfather's in gas stations, but they're sh1tty and 100% different...a disgrace to the name.

My kinda thread too. We've still got Godfather's here in Nebraska, where it originated. I'm not sure how far else it's spread. Great lunch place for us at work, as they have a pizza buffet 😀
Favorite local is Don Carmelo's
Then Papa Murphy's, Freschetta (much better than Digiorno IMO), and Tombstone.
I was thoroughly unimpressed with the pizza I ate in Italy; the germans made a better pie as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it's because it was northern Italy, I dunno.
Papa John's if I'm feeling dreadfully lazy or intoxicated and need someone to deliver, followed by Dominos. Pizza Hut I'll eat if it's free, but that's about it. I certainly won't pay the ridiculous prices they ask for their sub-par pizzas.

Yep, that's the one I went to as well.

Wow, really? Is it still like 1" thick, about half of that being cheese with the toppings buried in it? :camera: or ban! 😉

ghetto pizza. bla!

i think ur confused little caesars is "ghetto pizza" hands down

The one by my school (in Flint) has 3" bullet proof glass over the whole counter, and there is a little 2 part spinny thing for them to get the pizza out. Plus the door to the back has a huge lock which can only be undone from inside.

Crazy!i

A good friend of mine always orders this: BBQ sauce instead of tomato, chicken strips, bacon and sausage. My favourite was a couple years ago, when Little Ceasers had an unlimited topping pizza for $8 or $9. I used to just put just about everything on it. So good.
