Do you think regular mom and pop pizza (not pizza hut or dominos or papa johns) is more healthy than, McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell... etc.

More healthy? Yes, but not by far. They do use real cheese, but it is still white bread and cheese.

You just had to play the race card.

I bet he voted for Bush :|

You have your bread(crust), you have your dairy(cheese), you have your meats, and you have you veggies (sauce).
I think pizza is a great meal if you can keep your portions reasonable.

It all depends on what you get from where. For example, a salad and Lite Lemondae (Wendy's baby) is still going to be healthier than 2 slices of cheese pizza and a Coke. But those 2 slices and a Coke are going to be healthier than a Double Cheese and Frosty.

You can eat at pizza places, fast food places, whatever, as long as you do it in moderation and you watch your diet. Just because you eat at these places 2 or 3 times a week doesn't mean it's an instant death wish as long as you still eat well.

bush likes white cheese? 😛

It's healthy, but then it isn't. It can provide all 4 food groups, but the greaseyness of the pizza is what can send it down hill.

ok, i make my own pizza, buy frozen and buy little ceasars and the cheese all seems the same to me? 😕

To the question in the heading, no, pizza is not healthy. To the question in the OP, yes, it is probably better than regular fast food, but I doubt by much. I try and limit my fast food intake to once every other week so that way when I do have it I can go all out and get REALLY unhealthy 🙂

I don't know any other way to educate you on the subject unless you want to come to NYC and try some of the local pizzeria pizzas 😉

Most (all?) big chains use artificial cheese on their pizza. Real cheese is MUCH more stringy.

No, of course it's not healthy. Do you people have any idea of the amount of cheese that is on a single slice of pizza? Cheese is mostly fat, and has little nutritional value besides the calcium.
