Pizza debate

Vito's on La Cienega and Tomato Pie on Melrose [and another location on Hyperion], best NY style pizza in LA IMHO

NY Pizza forever!

In Chicago, my favorite NY pizza place is Santullo's up in Wicker Park. At home, it's probably Pasta-eria.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy deep dish, particularly Lou Malnati's, but you just can't buy it by the slice and it takes 30-45 minutes to make. A NY slice, I can get and eat quickly without making a big thing out of it. And it's just the right ratio of sauce to cheese to toppings to crust.

Edit:
cool, lifer titles came back 🙂 I worked hard over the past 4 years for that lol.

Ok what's your favorite style of pizza thin or thick crust? What kind of toppings do you like? Please list websites of you favorite pizza joints too!

I personally like Chicago style pizza (thick crust)with extra cheese, sauce, pepperoni and Canadian bacon sliced thick.

Best pizza joint in Chicago.

Lou's is so terrible I can't believe anyone likes it. Go up to Highland Park and drop in to Piero's. It is voted best in Chicago by food critics, year after year after year.

The only real pizza is New Haven and New York style. The stuff they make in Chicago is okay, but it's a casserole, NOT a pizza.

yes, new york vs chicago is apples to oranges. they are completely different. you can even say chicago style isnt REALLY pizza. never had the chicago but it does look damn good

Detroit Square style pizza, somewhat thick crust, lots of sauce, pepperoni, fresh made chorizo and fresh mushrooms.

Simply the best.

Had Chicago Deep Crust pizza for the first time a week ago and didn't like it. Crust was mushy or under baked but maybe this is how it is made. I ordered the sausage, pepperoni, and onion large.
Lou Malnati's River North

That looks a lot like my favorite pizza, except my favorite doesn't have burnt crust and probably tastes better. A little place here called River City pizza. It's a bit of a drive to get there, but well worth it. Best pizza I have ever had, with consistent results.

I like any kind of pizza with a thick crust, cheese stuffed crust with pineapple and tons of cheese
