The P3XL leaks are fugly with that notch...i'm hoping that in person it's not so bad like every other year's leaks. I recently went from the P1XL to the regular size Pixel and haven't looked back. Single handed use and pocket fitting is that much better for me. If the regular Pixel 3 isn't insanely priced i'll upgrade.

I thought the iPhone x notch was too wide and this one is too deep. Hopefully they come up with something in the middle.

I still think the pixel 2XL is good for another year. It's still running smooth as heck (upgraded to P). It's not a sexy phone, it's just a very good one that does everything you ask it to well. It's the first time I haven't had a huge urge to upgrade quickly from a phone in a while. I mean I still may get a Pixel 3 because I'm a consumer like that but it certainly won't be necessary.

Am I the only one that doesn't care either way on the notches? Honestly, I'm more peeved that they're doing it asymmetrically and not notching the bottom too, especially when paired with those big chin bezels.

That or just remove the front camera and make it a wireless thing, put it on a ring or something that all the selfie-focused people can wear (watch?), and make the whole front just screen. This way it makes it better for the selfie people while appeasing the notch haters, and getting to look cool having the whole face be screen.

Or maybe make the notches on the corners and put the cameras and stuff there. This would let them wrap around the edges with the display like they seem to want to so badly, while protecting the corners.

.......
The problem with notches is that they get in the way of status icons and you have to pull down each time to see what was hidden. This extra step for a useless vanity notch design is very bad.

Asymmetically notching the bottom as well... lol.

I don't think it would have been a bad design choice to have a notch, but in equal size or length as the competition. But I suppose one of their key features was keeping the dual front speakers.

Only addition here is dual front cameras..which I don't get the appeal. Dual rear camera in addition to their currently great camera on the 2XL would have been a nice feature. I don't ever remember myself using the front facing camera for anything. They haven't had any specific face id technology. Which is the only reason apple included a notch. Once they figure out how to get that stuff within the screen the iPhone will soon be all screen I bet.

I'm just curious for their reasoning in October. I bet they will say more screen real estate. It's supposed to be a 6.7 inch device excluding the bottom chin.

My OnePlus 3 begs to differ.
With 99% of storage full, right now, side by side, it more smooth and faster then new gs9.

Good to know. How's the battery been? Even though it's hard to imagine getting anything without a headphone jack, I have to admit the OnePlus 6 looks pretty good.

Yea I agree it does I just wish it had a better camera. I wonder if they plan on releasing the 6T or something like they did with the 5T.

I played around with the 5T and I liked it a lot, very smooth. I got it to replace my sister's s7 and she loves it. They really improved from the first one plus phone. I bought the first one and it had a yellow screen so I sent it back. I was skeptical when buying the 5T at first but once it came in, you could easily tell they improved it a lot.

I'm unsure what software version she is on, not the latest I think it may be on Oreo by now.
