You had better not be serious.

or what?

Or it's one of the most ignorant and retarded "serious" posts on Anandtech.

Otherwise, it still fails as a joke and qualifies as trolling.

I agree, especially in light of the OP.

The dog did what dogs do. Theres what, 2 or 3 million animals euthanized every year by shelters. You just now decide to act high and mighty because 1 dog was killed by a snake?

Trolling indeed. Oh right. Kill one your a murderer, kill a million its a statistic.......

It has NOTHING to do with one dog killing a snake and EVERYTHING to do with public ignorance and breed bias. I'd call someone out on that "pitbulls are inherently dangerous and violent" mentality no matter where it was expressed. Anyone expressing that bias should be ashamed of their ignorance. It's so backward I shouldn't have to do anything more than point it out.

What does euthanizing animals have to do with anything? Where did I say anything about the story in the OP? Did I ever equate killing a dog to "murder?" Dogs aren't people and should not be elevated to the same importance. Some people eat them, some people perform animal testing on them, I don't care. A dog is not a human, but a pitbull is nothing more than a powerful breed and only have the unjust reputation they have because of what people do to them. It's ignorant people like that who spread the misconception and create others who want to ban the breed and impose laws that restrict them, despite the fact that they can be as loving, loyal, friendly, gentle, and good with strangers/kids as any other dog.

You want to make a point that a dog is a dog? Good. Then defend it like I am because that's my point exactly.

I didn't even point out the contradiction that the dog in the story was an indoor dog and thus not on "the streets" endangering anyone. You fail at reading comprehension. It looks like contractions aren't your thing either.

It could have. I've chopped their heads off and seen them continue to move for hours. The dog may have instinctually held on until they both died.

poor doggie. Pit's get a bad rap because of shit owners.

It's not the breeds fault, it's the owner. Not to mention the media bias. People get bit by dogs everyday, but it doesn't become a news item unless it's one of those nefarious pit bulls

Yep. Powerfull breeds are more scary and capable of doing damage if they are made to be violent, but that's all. It's strange that fear alone actually factors them into legislation when even a little amount of research would show the truth (laws against "scarry" dogs).

I know more chihuahua's that are violent toward strangers than pits. Then again, I know of some very nice ones too. I have personally befriended the most violent dog I've ever seen and it was a chihuahua.

I'm not saying that all dogs are "made" violent or good-natured, but any dog can be allowed to be violent and the dangerous ones of ANY breed that can't be corrected should be dealt with appropriately. Breed-specific legislation is wrong and anyone who did enough research to have a REAL opinion would know that.

youll sick your pitbull on him!
It wasn't a threat. I was literally saying that he had better be joking or else he would be expressing his ignorance.

My dog. She's not a pit; obviously. All my dogs have been mutts.

Oh, and she was nearly killed by a snake when I lived there (not that it's relevant to my opinion on anything). I'll share my experience in case it helps anyone else save their dog:

She had two bumps on her lip that we failed to identify as fang marks, she was very sluggish, and she was drooling uncontrolably (she normally didn't drool at all). I thought that it was an allergy to the subterrainian yellowjackets (wasps) nesting in the fenced-in backyard. She worsened after I had left for work so my landlady took her to the vet and found out that it was a snakebite. She needed the antivenin to survive. I don't know how they identified it, so they probably just gave her all three for our area (cottonmouth, rattlesnake, copperhead).
