Problem is that there is no server. We all run off of a wireless router.

What brand? Most linksys broadband routers have 3rd party firmware that includes traffic shaping.

Can you actually read? They are using a WIRELESS router.

How about wrapping his wireless antenna in tinfoil or an empty tin can?

Just don't forget it. 😉

eh, i skimmed his post too quickly. missed that part. but yea, its pretty simple still. metal cup over his antenna temporarily should suffice no? if your too lazy to move, turn on mac address filtering and block him while he's gone. there are so many ways to knock wireless clients off wifi. simple solutions, then again i might just be stupid😛

Ok - I share an office with an attorney, and we split the DSL bill down the middle. Her husband comes in here in the evenings (when I am still working) and starts downloading everything in the world off of Kazaa. They leave, adn there is practically NO internet bandwidth. I swear to God - it is worse than dialup.

Is it wrong to shut his machine off?

How does bandwidth sharing work and what decides bandwidth priority?
