The Amiga version was a lot prettier than the PC version 🙁

I *LOVED* that game. I played sooo many hours of it on my Amiga... 🙂

I really really hope they don't mess it up!

At least it's the same company who is working on the new version, so there is more chance of getting a decent version yet again.

My... um... friend will probably just download it from some BitTorrent directory.

Ironic, isn't it?
🙂

Ever since watching Pirates of the Caribbean, whenever I think of pirates, I think of Johnny Depp as Cpt. Jack Sparrow.

Awesome game. One of the best things I learned from it was Caribbean geography!

I really do hope they don't screw it up and ruin its legacy. I could easily see that happening but hopefully Firaxis will stay true to the original and instead of focusing on graphics and sound, they will keep the same engrossing gameplay that I remember. It has been a long while though.

This could be fantastic, though!

ROFL. In 7th grade we read Treasure Island, and the teacher was quite surprised that I could rattle off dates, places, nations and ship types from 1560 to 1650.

That is awesome! I've been playing it on the genesis emulator off and on. Can't wait until this out done.

You know that it will be nothing like the original and everybody will be back here bitching about it, right?

😉

Don't extinguish my hope!

I'm optimistic. The Pirates! Gold rehash was well-done and in some ways even better thanthe original. Sid Maier has a good track record as far as sequels/revivals go.
