How many piplines dos the 256 MB 9800 Pro have, does the xt have more than the pro.

Just plan on doing a clean install of Windows if you're using an nVidia card right now.

I have a 6800 gt oc and a 98 pro 256 meg coming from what I understand can be flashed to a 9800 xt. I really have no idea which one I want to keep.
the 9800 ptro I got for 223.50 the 6800 gt oc cost 399
I'm trying to figure/find out which is the best bang for the buck

I'd probably keep the 9800 Pro for now and sell the 6800 GT... you could probably get more than $400 for it on eBay since they're in such short supply... then closer to the end of the year you'll have more options and prices will be lower.

All 3xx cards have an 8x1 configuration.
The RV3xx variants have 4x1.

The GT is a lot faster, probably at least two times faster.

The GT is 2 times faster then the 9800 Pro IF you have the cpu to match the card. A 2.8 P4 is NOT enough cpu to let a GT fly, an A64 3000 is a slightly better but still the bottleneck most of the time. If your comp is midrange and you don't plan on upgradeing cpu/mobo/ram any time soon, I'd stick with the 9800 Pro and sell the GT.
