PIP page fault..Help!

I need help, any advise appreciated.
When closing the Microsoft program PictureIt!2001, I get the following error window message:
PIP
PIP caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL 32.DLL at 017f:bfff9db61..............stack dump
I had been using PictureIt often with no problem.
I'm using the latest WIN 98 and IE 6.
When clicking on "CLOSE", the window will not close. I can move the window down out of sight and continue computing.
However, I can't shut down normally, I have to manually shut off power and re-boot. If I don't use PictureIt, there is no problem.

IE 6? Isn't that in beta?

Go back to IE 5.5 or 5.0 and then give it a try. IE 6 caused problems on my Win2k machine.

Thanks for the advise.

The IE I have is V. 6.00.2462.00...I don't think it's a beta.
Things worked fine before with the V 6.
I'll wait for more comments....but it might make sense to go back to V. 5.
