Hi,
My mom is going to buy me a DVD-Rom for Xmas, and since she doesn't know a thing about computers, well she told me to choose which drive I want.

I think the Pioneer 16x is a good drive... do you think it's a good pic?

I don't know wheter to buy a slot or tray... slot seems cool, but is it okay too?

Edit: I mean the Pioneer DVD-106S.

Thanks
Guillaume

I would get the slot load and go for the 106/or 116 model as they are a revision of the earlier 16x speed drives where they enhanced the dae ripping speed of the drive...check out www.storagereviewer.com for more info on the drive and a comparison to other drives...

You will find the lite-on 16x is a better drive in many respects an cost less, but sense mom is buying and it is only about 10-15 bucks more you can play brand name game...

Yep got one here too... apparently these things are so in demand that people are jacking up prices a bit. :) If you're getting a slot load be sure its a 106 like what Duvie said.
