I don't believe this has the Elite type quality amplification that the prior 1018 had, but it would probably work well if you have non-demanding loudspeakers and don't play your music or soundtracks really loud.

(I own the VSX-919, which is apparently supposed to sound the same as the 1019, and it sounds wonderful with my Hsu HB-1 mk. 2 and Hsu VTF-1 2.1 system - very pure and crystal clear is what comes to mind).
