Pioneer DVR-A04 DVD-RW question

Hi, I was just wondering, since I noticed that the Pioneer has a fan, is it really noisy? I'm trying to build a quiet PC but also want a DVD burner, so is the fan always on or only when a DVD is being burnt (no pun intended)?

Nevermind, but in case anyone's curious, here's what I got from http://www.pioneerdvdrw.co.uk/about.htm:

"Also the DVR-A04 has a new function called ?Active Fan?. This function stops the fan when no heat is sensed and then restarts the fan when heat is re-sensed."
