Pioneer 116 slot or 106 slot DVD-ROM?

What's the advantages/disadvantages of these models? I read somewhere on this board that the 106 was better at ripping DVDs. Any opinions?

they're the exact same drive except that the 106 has digital audio output and is slightly louder when playing DVDs
correct me if i'm wrong, but im sure the 116 has a tray...

yes, the 116 is the tray model!

I would go with the slot loading model. I have it, and it works great.

it's also much cooler than the tray model in use!

I got the 106 from newegg.com for $60. You can see a review at cdrlabs.com. I agree its abit noisy when playing dvd.
