actually I am in fact learning chinese, and I have also been informed that mandarin doesn't have any swear words, just euphamisms of swear words. canto is where all the sweet slang is. Oh well. besides she probably can't read the characters most asians raised in the US can't. All my chinese friends take chinese to learn the writing system.

I think that this thread has been hijacked. I thought you should only respond to a post if you have something related to the question asked by the OP. So... I would say if you know something post it. If not , then don't let it bother you. Learning the vulgar terms is mostly so I can suprise my friends since they don't know I'm taking chinese, then I'm gonna let out the old mom jokes etc. its gonna be sweet. That seems weird that mandarin doesn't have swear words though. I don't think I could be blatantly malicious if I tried anyways, I would probably feel bad.
