I just got XPSP2 from the MS Security Conference last week. I installed it on my computer and all is good. I have decided to use the built in firewall. I have another computer connected to my Linksys router and it prints to a shared printer that is attached to my XP machine. Now the 98 computer cannot print. I am not the one using the 98 computer so I don?t have an error at this time. Would the built in firewall be what is affecting my printing and if so how can i fix this with out turning off the firewall? Thanks for the help.

if printing was working before and it is not now than it's probably the firewall that's causing the problem. You will need to set an exception for the printer in the firewall so the 98 machine can connect to it.

take a look at the firewall properties dialog and go to the exceptions tab, than simply put a checkmark under "file and printer sharing".

turns out it had nothing to do with SP2. it was a users erorr. File and print sharing were already turned on. Thanks for the help.
